Eagle Farm horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (13:03) Channel 7 BM78 (2400m)
#4 – Kureder @ $1.85
Kureder is a three-time winner from his last four starts, including a win at Doomben in fine style last time out.
The Chris Waller-trained son of Ocean Park won by 1.5 lengths, and he’s good enough to win again at short odds.
We’re taking the shorts and including him in multis.
Race 2. (13:38) XXXX Summer Provincial Series (1300m)
#4 – Willinga Freefall @ $3
Willinga Freefall is knocking on the door of a win after consecutive third placings, which is good enough form to contend here.
The Kris Lees-trained runner ran third at Canterbury last start, so moving to Doomben should see his form improve.
We’re not surprised by the shortening odds.
Race 3. (14:13) Eureka Stud Phelan Ready (1000m)
#3 – Boomroux @ $1.55 to place
We think Spywire wins this race by many lengths, but we can’t take the $1.14 odds available.
Therefore, we’re backing Boomroux to finish second at $1.55, which is a fair price given the small field.
He finished third on debut at Eagle Farm behind Mishani Suspect, which is a good enough form guide for this contest.
Race 4. (14:48) Aquis Stallions Calaway Gal (1000m)
#5 – Barbie’s Sister @ $2.20
Barbie’s Sister had plenty of betting support on debut when running second, and she could go one better.
The two-year-old daughter of Spirit of Boom had every chance to win, but we’re giving her another chance to win.
Take the better odds off the inside draw.
Race 5. (15:28) Magic Millions Handicap (1400m)
#3 – Weigall Tiger @ $2.30
Looking for his fourth consecutive win is Weigall Tiger, who won at Sunshine Coast, Ipswich, and Eagle Farm.
The three-year-old son of Saxon Warrior won by 4.8 lengths last time out as a $2.70 chance, so the odds available this time around are good.
Getting 1.5kg off his back is ideal.
Race 6. (16:08) Sky Racing Bribie Handicap (1000m)
#1 – Prince of Boom @ $4.40
Class is with Prince of Boom, and despite running down the track at Sunshine Coast, he pulled up with cardiac arrythmia.
The five-year-old gelding by Spirit of Boom is a three-time winner at Eagle Farm and an eight-time winner overall.
It’s tough to overlook that level of ability.
Race 7. (16:48) Ladbrokes Just Now (1300m)
#2 – Extremist @ $3.10
The five-year-old mare just needs a touch of luck from the wide draw to go close on Saturday.
She is a six-time winner from 21 starts, including a win at Eagle Farm, which is an ideal form guide for this race.
After opening at $5, her odds have been slashed.
Race 8. (17:28) The Star Gateway (1400m)
#5 – Freedom Rally @ $3.10
Freedom Rally was good enough to rattled off four consecutive wins last preparation.
The four-year-old is unbeaten in three starts at Eagle Farm, and he wasn’t disgraced when second at Sunshine Coast last time out.
That’s good enough form for this level of racing.
Race 9. (18:05) Gemlife Diamond Dash BM80 (1200m)
#17 – Helluva Barty @ $3.70
Helluva Barty has made an impressive start to his career with three wins and three placings from eight starts.
The four-year-old son of Hellbent won at Doomben two back before placing at Sunshine Coast last time out.
That’s solid enough form to see him taking out this race.
Race 10. (18:41) BRC Membership Plus BM70 (1500m)
#8 – Blakmax @ $4.20
Blakmax has been a model of consistency throughout his career, including a win at Eagle Farm.
The four-year-old gelding followed it up with three consecutive placings, which is good enough form.
Barrier 17 makes it hard, but we’re happy to include him.
