Eagle Farm horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (12:43) Road to Magic Millions on Sale Now (2212m)
#1 – Bonny Ezra @ $3.10
Bonny Ezra doesn’t have an excellent form line, but the Chris Waller-trained runner should appreciate this company.
The eight-year-old comes off a sixth at Eagle Farm in open company, so she should enjoy the drop in class.
We’re not shocked by the odds.
Race 2. (13:18) Drinkwise Handicap (1000m)
#5 – Accelar @ $3.30
Accelar has taken plenty of money after opening at $4.80, which is a good sign for a debutante.
The Edmonds-trained filly won a trial at Beaudesert by 1.3 lengths, and she’s a half-sister to Anaheed.
That breeding should take her close to winning on debut.
Race 3. (13:53) Madison Cleaning Services Handicap (1600m)
#3 – Inca Trail @ $3.10
Inca Trail looked good when winning last time out at Goulburn, and handling this class shouldn’t be a worry.
The three-year-old son of Menari gets the inside draw to work with, and he has shown good early speed so far.
Take the odds before punters climb on.
Race 4. (14:28) Clayfield Jewellery C3 (1815m)
#10 – Andalus @ $2.70
The betting support is with Andalus, who drops in grade after running at Randwick last time out.
The four-year-old gelding by Almanzor is only a one-time winner, but he’s a much better type than that.
We’re happy to include him at the favourite odds.
Race 5. (15:05) Titan Telecoms C6 (1600m)
#3 – Regal Pom @ $5
Regal Pom capped off good form with a win at Eagle Farm last time out, and he should be tough to beat again.
The five-year-old son of Press Statement won narrowly last start, but having winning experience on the track is a bonus.
Luck is needed from the draw, but we fancy the odds.
Race 6. (15:43) Clear to Work St Rita’s Cup (1600m)
#4 – Shibli @ $2.50
Shibli is running hot with consecutive wins at Doomben and Eagle Farm.
The Waller-trained seven-year-old has found a new lease on life, and after opening at $3.40, he has been best-backed to win.
Barrier two is ideal and we’re taking the odds.
Race 7. (16:22) This is Croser BM68 (1400m)
#8 – Fixated @ $8.50
Fixated needs luck from the wide barrier, but he’s likely to settle back and come with a late run.
The six-year-old gelding by Hinchinbrook is a five-time winner overall, so there’s nothing wrong with his form.
We’re happy with the generous odds.
Race 8. (17:03) Ladbrokes Communities BM75 (1400m)
#4 – Titanium @ $4
Titanium is knocking on the door after consecutive second placings, and we’re happy to stick with him.
The son of Smart Missile is a three-time winner at Eagle Farm, and he runs well with Justin Huxtable in the saddle.
Take the $4 odds before they shorten.
Race 9. (17:43) Sky Racing Handicap (1200m)
#6 – Sweet Margot May @ $3
Sweet Margot May has plenty of class after posting six wins from 12 starts.
The five-year-old mare by I Am Invincible is a three-time winner on the track, and she’s the one they want in the feature race.
55.5kg on her back makes her tough to beat.
Race 10. (18:20) Canadian Club 0MW (1200m)
#4 – Lost in Transit @ $2.80
Lost in Transit owns four wins and three placings from eight starts, so he hasn’t done much wrong throughout his career.
The four-year-old son of Spieth is unbeaten over the distance, so it’s tough to find any negatives with his form.
Barrier 11 is the only negative, so include.
