Eagle Farm horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (11:58) Margot McKinney Well Groomed C3 (1600m)
#7 – Tenzing @ $4.60
Tenzing is better for two runs back from a spell, and it’s time he gave punters something to cheer about.
The five-year-old finished third at Doomben last time out, and this isn’t an overly strong field to beat.
We expect him to be right around the mark.
Race 2. (12:33) Spring Carnival on Sale Now (2412m)
#2 – Chernak @ $2.25
Chernak comes off consecutive wins at Eagle Farm, so he’s well worth backing again.
The Chris Waller-trained six-year-old won by 3.3 lengths last time out, which was a terrific form guide for this contest.
Getting an inside barrier adds weight to his chances.
Race 3. (13:08) Sky Racing BM70 (1400m)
#9 – Poetic Drama @ $3.90
Poetic Drama is only a two-time winner from 22 starts, but those wins came at Eagle Farm.
The five-year-old is knocking on the door of another win after consecutive second placings, including finishing second at Eagle Farm last start.
We’re happy with the odds available.
Race 4. (13:43) Luke Reynolds Hairdressing BM70 (1400m)
#8 – Naval Trader @ $2.90
Naval Trader hasn’t done much wrong throughout his career, including two wins and three placings from five starts.
The four-year-old son of Merchant Navy is unbeaten at the distance, so he gets conditions to suit on Saturday.
Barrier 10 is tricky, but class should prevail.
Race 5. (14:23) Eureka Stud BM85 (1810m)
#2 – Wairere Falls @ $7
Wairere Falls is getting close to scoring an overdue win after placing at his last three starts.
He is a seven-year-old son of Savabeel wasn’t far behind Nikau Spur last start, who won again last Saturday.
It’s a good form guide, and punters get lovely odds.
Race 6. (14:58) LGT Crestone Cup (1200m)
#12 – Uno Artie @ $8
Uno Artie doesn’t know how to run a bad race after posting four wins and a placing this preparation.
The five-year-old son of Flying Artie owns four wins and seven placings overall, and his consistency is worth noting.
Punters get better odds than we expected.
Race 7. (15:33) Ridgmont Farm BM70 (1000m)
#7 – Critique @ $4.60
Critique won well two back at Ballarat, which should be a good form pointer for racing in Queensland.
The three-year-old colt didn’t fire at Sandown last time out, but he comes off a trial win at Randwick, which bodes well.
55kg on his back and punters get value odds.
Race 8. (16:12) Peachester Lodge C6 (1000m)
#3 – Hard to Say @ $3.60
Hard to Say comes off two impressive wins and there’s no reason to jump off his back.
The four-year-old son of Excel and Exceed won by 1.3 lengths last time out, and we expect money to come for him throughout the week.
Follow any positive betting moves.
Race 9. (16:48) Ladbroke It BM85 (1500m)
#6 – Eaglemont @ $5.50
Eaglemont is a seven-year-old son of Camelot, who comes off a tidy effort for second.
He is a four-time winner, so the class to win races like this are there, and we think he’s worth an each-way bet.
Getting an inside draw adds to his appeal.
