#2 – Turtle Again
Turtle Again has been a model of consistency this season, including a win and three placings from his last five starts.
The son of Proisir won by 2.8 lengths at Happy Valley two back before placing at Sha Tin, which is an excellent form guide.
Punters should get each-way odds on race night.
Race 2. (22:40) Jackson Handicap (1800m)
#9 – Strongest Boy
Strongest Boy owns three second placings from four attempts at Happy Valley, so it’s only a matter of time before he wins.
The four-year-old owns five placings from 14 starts overall, and having Zac Purton back in the saddle helps his chances.
Barrier 11 makes it tough, but he has time to find cover.
Race 3. (23:10) Club Handicap (1200m)
#8 – Shinkansen
Shinkansen broke maidens last time out with a 1.2-length win at Happy Valley and he could kick on with it.
The four-year-old son of Rubick got the job done at $5.80 odds, and punters could get similar odds up in grade.
Karis Teetan rides, which adds to his appeal.
Race 4. (23:40) The Hong Kong Club Challenge Cup (1000m)
#9 – Happy United
Happy United has been in good form this season, including a win two back at Happy Valley.
He wasn’t too far behind the winner last time out when running third, and a slight improvement on that effort would be good enough.
Having Purton ride at 53.5kg is a luxury.
Race 5. (00:10) Ice House Handicap (1650m)
#2 – Dragon Star
Dragon Star didn’t fire at Happy Valley last time out, but his form prior was good enough to recommend.
The four-year-old son of Pride of Dubai won consecutive races at Happy Valley before finishing seventh, but he was only 1.8 lengths behind the winner.
It’s another quality ride for Teetan, who could have a good night.
Race 6. (00:45) Club Handicap (1200m)
#10 – Super Eagle
Super Eagle is getting desperately close to a win after four consecutive second placings.
The five-year-old son of Mshawish has yet to win from 16 attempts at Happy Valley, but the elusive win will come soon.
Purton riding is a bonus, and we expect money to come for him.
Race 7. (01:15) Connaught Handicap (1650m)
#9 – Star Contact
Star Contact turned his form around in a big way with a win at Happy Valley as a $26 chance last start.
The David Hayes-trained gelding has always had the ability to win, but now that he has broken through for an overdue win, he could kick on with it.
Punters should get value odds on race night.
Race 8. (01:50) Chater Handicap (1200m)
#5 – Raging Blizzard
Raging Blizzard is already a two-time winner this preparation, so there’s no reason to not back him.
The four-year-old son of Per Incanto is a nice type in the making, and he adds to Teetan’s excellent book of rides.
We’re not expecting big odds, but include him in multis.
