Happy Valley horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (21:40) To Kwa Wan Handicap (1650m)
#8 – To Infinity
To Infinity won well earlier this preparation at Happy Valley, and he hasn’t been too far away since.
The five-year-old son of Darci Brahma is a three-time winner on this track, and that form is good enough for this level of opposition.
Getting in with a light weight is a bonus.
Race 2. (22:10) Ma Tau Wai Handicap (2200m)
#5 – Sharpen Bright
Sharpen Bright comes off consecutive second placings at Sha Tin and Happy Valley, which is solid form.
The four-year-old son of Redwood was only a nose behind the winner last start, so he’s getting very close.
Drawing barrier three is ideal, so take the odds.
Race 3. (22:40) Wang Tau Hom Handicap (1650m)
#1 – Can’t Go Wong
Can’t Go Wong comes off a third placing at Happy Valley behind Strongest Boy, and punters often get value odds.
The five-year-old son of Per Incanto is taking his time to get back to winning form, but there are no superstars in this field.
He’s good enough to show up at generous odds.
Race 4. (23:10) Lok Fu Handicap (1200m)
#6 – Yoda’s Choice
Yoda’s Choice is better for two runs under his belt, including a fourth at Happy Valley last time out.
The three-year-old son of Good Journey was only three lengths behind the winner, and having Karis Teetan riding helps.
We’re happy to include him in selections.
Race 5. (23:40) To Kwa Wan Handicap (1650m)
#4 – Dragon Star
Dragon Star has been knocking on the door lately, and his race fitness could set him apart.
The four-year-old son of Pride of Dubai won consecutive races earlier this preparation before adding a placing.
Getting 4.5kg off his back is a massive bonus.
Race 6. (00:10) Lok Fu Handicap (1200m)
#3 – Ernest Feeling
Ernest Feeling has been mixing his form, but he’s already a two-time winner this preparation.
The six-year-old son of Epaulette wasn’t far away when fourth last time out, and there are no superstars in this field.
Punters often get each-way odds for this runner.
Race 7. (00:45) Hok Yuen Handicap (1000m)
#5 – Happy United
Happy United is a two-time winner this campaign, including two back at Happy Valley.
The four-year-old son of Sweynesse wasn’t too far behind Ka Ying Spirit last start, and that form has been franked.
He has more upside than most in this field.
Race 8. (01:15) Ma Tau Kok Handicap (1650m)
#3 – Quantum Patch
We can’t go all night without including a Zac Purton-ridden runner, so Quantum Patch goes in the mix.
The five-year-old son of Gleneagles runs his best races at Happy Valley with seven starts for a win and three placings.
His odds are likely to be short with Purton riding.
Race 9. (01:50) Kowloon City Handicap (1200m)
#4 – Beauty Infinity
Beauty Infinity has six starts for two wins and three placings, and he was only a length behind them last time out.
The four-year-old son of Toronado won by over two lengths two starts back, so that’s an excellent form guide.
He should be the one to beat, and the market will be telling.
