Happy Valley horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (20:40) Dordogne Handicap (1200m)
#7 – Viva A La
Viva A La won well three starts back at Happy Valley, which is a tidy form guide.
The five-year-old gelding by Showcasing gets all favours from the draw, and he gets weight off his back.
Look for each-way odds on race night.
Race 2. (21:10) Ciron Handicap (1650m)
#2 – Snowalot
Snowalot runs his best races at Happy Valley, including 14 starts for three wins and four placings.
The six-year-old son of Contributer won well two back before finishing fourth last start, so that’s tidy form.
Zac Purton jumps off, but we’re still confident.
Race 3. (21:40) Loire Handicap (1800m)
#3 – Noble Pursuit
Value should be with Noble Pursuit, who scored consecutive wins to open his preparation.
The four-year-old gelding returned to form when running third last start, and getting Hugh Bowman riding helps.
He’s not always consistent, but he has more ability than most in this field.
Race 4. (22:10) Rhone Handicap (1650m)
#3 – To Infinity
To Infinity is struggling to show his best form, but having Purton in the saddle could help his chances.
The five-year-old son of Darci Brahma showed good form earlier in this career, so that form is good enough.
Barrier three adds to his appeal.
Race 5. (22:40) The Sauternes Cup (1200m)
#4 – Glory Cloud
Glory Cloud looks to cap off consecutive placings with a win, and we’re happy to include him in selections.
The four-year-old son of Charm Spirit was under a length behind the winner last start, so he’s getting close.
It’s another premium ride for Bowman.
Race 6. (23:10) Rhine Handicap (1000m)
#9 – Happy Horse
Happy Horse had one start in March for a win at Happy Valley before spelling, and he could return in fine order.
The five-year-old son of Zoustar is a two-time winner at the track, and getting barrier three adds to his appeal.
Punters should get each-way odds on race night.
Race 7. (23:45) Ciron Handicap (1650m)
#3 – Turin Warrior
The six-year-old is only a one-time winner at Happy Valley, but that win came last time out.
Turin Warrior won by a length as a $6.30 chance, and punters could get similar odds this time around.
It’s not the strongest field we’ve ever seen, so include him.
Race 8. (00:15) Garonne Handicap (1200m)
#2 – Double Bingo
Double Bingo didn’t fire last time out at Happy Valley, but he ran much better on debut.
The three-year-old gelding by Charm Spirit ran second on debut as a $78 chance, and punters will get shorter odds this time around.
He’s drawn to get all favours in the run.
Race 9. (00:50) Seine Handicap (1200m)
#2 – Copartner Prance
Copartner Prance is shooting for his fourth consecutive win after winning by 1.5 lengths last time out.
The four-year-old owns three wins from four attempts at Happy Valley, and Purton adds to his good book of rides.
We’re not expecting big odds on race night.
