Ipswich horse racing tips & form
—
Race 1. (15:13) Contract Chefs Australia Maiden (800m)
#4 – El Morzillo
El Morzillo is on debut for Kelly Schweida following a solid trial placing at Doomben, which is a good form guide.
The two-year-old filly by Star Witness finished only a nose behind the winner on that occasion, so it was a nice trial performance.
Look for each-way odds on race day.
Race 2. (15:48) Tab Maiden (800m)
#2 – Secretly Better
Secretly Better didn’t fire on debut at Ipswich, but nothing went right on that occasion.
The four-year-old son of Better than Ready comes off a trial win at Doomben, which came by 3.3 lengths.
That’s a tidy performance, so we expect money to come for him on race day.
Race 3. (16:23) Barrier Reef Pools BM58 (2150m)
#2 – Drake Passage
Drake Passage comes off a win at Gold Coast Polytrack, which is a good enough form guide.
The five-year-old son of Jakkalberry has yet to fire in two starts at Ipswich, but there are no superstars in this field.
His barrier speed could be enough to see him lead and kick.
Race 4. (16:58) Seven Handicap (1666m)
#6 – Chayse ‘N’ Adam
Chayse ‘N’ Adam is gunning for three consecutive wins at Ipswich, which is the best form guide for this race.
The three-year-old filly by Maurice scored by a half-length last time out, and she has a nice future given that effort.
Her turn-of-foot is good enough to see her continue winning.
Race 5. (17:33) Great Northern Maiden (1350m)
#5 – Bean Shameless
Bean Shameless hasn’t shown much so far, but he was good enough last time out at Sunshine Coast last time out.
The three-year-old son of Spill the Beans paid $31 last time out when running 5.6 lengths behind the winner.
Ryan Wiggins riding helps, and punters should get value odds.
Race 6. (18:10) Schweppes C3 Handicap (1100m)
#5 – Jump’n Fly
Jump’n Fly comes off consecutive wins at Eagle Farm and Ipswich, which is the best form for this race.
The four-year-old daughter of I Am Invincible won by a nose last time out, and getting the inside draw here is ideal.
Being from the Tony Gollan stable, we expect her to be well-backed on race day.
Race 7. (16:40) Sammut Bulow C6 (1100m)
#10 – Reliable Ruby
Reliable Ruby was good enough to win consecutive races last preparation, which is ideal form for this race.
The six-year-old mare by Reliable Man owns five wins and eight placings from 21 starts, so she’s rarely out of the money.
Getting the inside draw is ideal, and her form at Ipswich is good enough to warrant attention.
