Ballina racing tips
—
Race 1. (13:21) Tab Maiden (1400m)
#10 – Takemine @ $2.80
Takemine hasn’t been too far away from the mark throughout her career, which is solid form.
The four-year-old daughter of Hellbent ran fourth at Newcastle last time out and dropping to racing at Ballina suits.
She should be fighting out the finish.
Race 3. (14:31) George Cooley Menswear C1 (1000m)
#5 – Jewels Statement @ $2.25
The three-year-old filly has made a good start to her career with two starts for a win and a placing.
She won at Ballina on debut by four lengths, which is an exceptional form guide for this level of racing.
She went close as a firm favourite last start, but punters get much better odds this time around.
Race 5. (15:43) Gem Array Jewellers BM58 (1000m)
#13 – Top Bird @ $6.50
Top Bird turned her form around when winning at Murwillumbah in heavy conditions, and she could get conditions to suit.
The five-year-old daughter of Top Echelon has yet to race at Ballina, but she should enjoy racing around this circuit.
We’re enjoying the each-way odds from bookmakers.
Race 6. (16:23) Virtual Golf Centre Ballina BM74 (1590m)
#3 – Hadouken @ $3.20
Hadouken is better for two runs back from a spell, including a fifth at Doomben last time out.
The five-year-old gelding by Real Impact has the experience needed to beat this field with four wins and 10 placings.
It’s an even field, and he should be right in the mix.

Moonee Valley racing tips
—
Race 1. (18:15) Happy 70th Paul Sinclair Handicap (1200m)
#3 – Eject @ $1.90
Eject didn’t fire at Flemington on debut when well-backed, but we’re prepared to give him another chance.
The James Cummings-trained two-year-old didn’t enjoy racing down the straight, and his form could improve going around a turn.
Barrier two gives him every chance to impress.
Race 3. (19:15) The Ranvet Middle Distance Heat 7 (2040m)
#1 – Crimson Light @ $5
Crimson Light ran well for third fresh up at The Valley, which is a good form guide.
The five-year-old mare owns three wins and two placings from 11 starts, and it’s only a matter of time before she wins on this track.
Getting 1.5kg off her back is a bonus.
Race 5. (20:15) PJA Accountants & Business Advisors BM64 (1600m)
#8 – Sea What I See @ $2.05
Sea What I See turned her form around when winning at Bendigo, and she looks likely to kick on with it.
The four-year-old mare by Sea the Stars won by 3.8 lengths in fine style and getting anything better than $2 is a fair price.
We’re happy to include her in our selections.
Race 6. (20:45) The Orbit Logistics BM64 (1200m)
#9 – Mansiere @ $3.40
Mansiere loomed to win last time out before finishing second behind Guerrera at Sale.
The three-year-old gelding by Brave Smash is better for having that run under his belt, and he only needs luck from the draw.
We expect money to come for him late in the betting.
