The feature races, including the Melbourne Cup, are being run at Flemington, but we have expert betting tips for the card this Tuesday at Eagle Farm that features eight quality betting races.
Punters get value odds throughout the day in Queensland and we have our best bets at the ready.
Eagle Farm Melbourne Cup Day Betting Tips
Race 1. (12:10) Sky Racing Maiden (1500m)
#2 – Caboche @ $2.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Caboche has faced tough fields to start his career, so he will appreciate heading to Brisbane.
The Chris Waller-trained three-year-old ran sixth at Randwick last start, which followed a tidy fourth at Rosehill behind Dufresne.
We expect the $2.40 to be snapped up early.
Race 2. (12:50) Ascot Green Maiden (1600m)
#3 – I Am Winkles @ $3.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
I Am Winkles owns three placings from four starts and she should get every chance to break the maiden tag here.
She is a four-year-old mare who comes off a third placing at Sunshine Coast, which was a tidy effort against a big field.
The inside draw is ideal and punters are confident.
Race 3. (13:37) Impressu Print Group BM65 (2237m)
#6 – Malibu Blaze @ $4.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Malibu Blaze scored impressively at Doomben two back, and if she can replicate that effort, she should be tough to beat.
The Waller-trained four-year-old didn’t fire last time out, but she should improve with that effort under her belt.
Punters get each-way odds for a Waller-trained runner.
Race 4. (14:51) Bernborough Ascot C1 Handicap (1000m)
#7 – Fetch @ $2.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Fetch had no luck fresh up at Eagle Farm, so it could pay to put a line through that effort.
The three-year-old filly looked good when scoring on debut at Grafton by 3.8 lengths, which is excellent form for this grade.
She demands attention and money should come for her.
Race 5. (15:32) Tab Venue Mode BM65 (1800m)
#10 – Karlstad @ $3.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Karlstad is improving with every run and the Waller-trained gelding is knocking on the door of a win.
He finished second at Doomben last time out over 1650m and the extra distance plays right into his hands.
The $3.60 should firm to around $3 on race day.
Race 6. (16:08) Canadian Club BM75 (1200m)
#4 – Ingear @ $2.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Ingear looked the goods when winning fresh up at Eagle Farm and she wasn’t beaten far last time out.
She will look to push forward and try run them into the ground, which is a good tactical in this type of contest.
Punters get fair odds considering what she has paid in the past.
Race 7. (16:48) Lexus Spring Cup (1000m)
#3 – Kisukano @ $4.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Kisukano is a seven-time winner from 17 starts and she owns two of those wins at Eagle Farm.
She has drawn to get a nice track into the race, and she typically likes to roll forward and put the acid test to them.
Punters get each-way odds worth snapping up.
Race 8. (17:29) Makers Mark BM68 (1400m)
#9 – Heaven Amore @ $4.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Heaven Amore capped off consistent form to start her preparation with a win at Doomben last start.
The five-year-old relished the rise in distance to score over Karlstad, and that form could be franked earlier in the day.
Carrying 55kg is ideal, and although there are many each-way chances in this field, she looks likely to kick on with it.
