Moonee Valley
—
Race 1. (18:15) Valley Events Maiden (1600m)
#1 – Chimed @ $3.60
Chimed has yet to win from nine starts, but the imported son of Frankel has been close lately.
The five-year-old comes off a third placing at Benalla when rising to the mile, and he was under a length from the winner.
It’s good form, and money has come for him.
Race 2. (18:45) Xtreme Freight BM70 (1600m)
#2 – Precious Charm @ $3
Precious Charm owns three wins from four starts, including a win at Flemington against similar opposition last time out.
The four-year-old daughter of Per Incanto didn’t mind the rise in distance, and with the Symon Wilde stable firing, she has every chance to win again.
Take the $3 odds, which is excellent value.
Race 5. (20:15) Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge (955m)
#1 – Sparring @ $4.80
Sparring is a past fresh up winner, and he also owns two wins from three starts at Moonee Valley.
The five-year-old son of Fighting Sun gets 3kg off his back, taking his weight to 60kg, which should make much difference over the short distance.
Look for him to hit the ground running.
Race 7. (21:15) Australasian Retail Projects BM70 (1600m)
#2 – Captain Britain @ $3.50
Captain Britain capped off consistent form with a win at Hamilton last start, and that could open the flood gates.
He’s a three-time winner from 10 starts overall, so he knows how to get the job done, and getting 2kg off his back is ideal.
Money has come for him, which isn’t surprising.

Canterbury

Race 2. (18:30) Drinkwise Maiden (1550m)
#5 – So Outrageous @ $3.20
So Outrageous ran second at Rosehill on debut when 1.3 lengths behind Waikato Girl, which should be a good form guide.
The three-year-old son of So You Think had solid betting support at $9 on that occasion, and it’s no surprise to see shorter odds being offered.
We’re happy to include him in selections.
Race 3. (19:00) The Agency Real Estate Maiden (1250m)
#5 – Vanquished @ $2.80
Vanquished has been right around the mark so far, and a maiden win shouldn’t take much longer.
The Waterhouse/Bott-trained gelding ran third at Randwick last time out behind Sly Boots, and that form should hold up.
Look for him to push forward and be tough to catch.
Race 6. (20:30) Ranvet BM72 (1550m)
#1 – Clear Choice @ $3.20
Looking to score back-to-back wins is Clear Choice, who won narrowly over Hokkaido at Rosehill last start.
The four-year-old son of Choisir capped off three consecutive placings with the victory, and he could win again.
With three wins and three placings from nine starts, he has class on his side.
Race 8. (21:30) The Agency Property Management BM72 (1100m)
#5 – Terra Mater @ $4.60
Terra Mater looked good last preparation when posting two wins and six placings from eight starts.
The four-year-old mare comes off consecutive trial wins at Warwick Farm, which is ideal preparation for this race.
Barrier four is ideal, and punters get each-way odds.
