Rosehill horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (12:25) Cincotta Chemist BM78 (1800m)
#9 – Rise to It @ $2.90
Rise to It knows how to win after posting three wins from his last four starts, which is tough to overlook.
This is his hardest race so far, but the four-year-old drops to 53.5kg, which makes him tough to handle.
Punters should expect money to come for him on race day.
Race 2. (13:00) Petaluma BM78 (2400m)
#1 – Caboche @ $4
Caboche returned to form when running second at Rosehill last time out, which is a good form guide.
The Chris Waller-trained son of Vadamos has yet to win on the track, but that shouldn’t matter against this field.
His best form comes over the distance, so take the each-way odds.
Race 3. (13:35) Tab BM78 (1100m)
#5 – Eagle Nest @ $2.80
Eagle Nest turned her form around this preparation with consecutive wins at Gosford and Randwick.
The four-year-old mare by Shalaa won easily by three lengths last time out, and she doesn’t know how to run a bad race over this distance.
We’re not surprised by the short odds available.
Race 4. (14:10) Tab Highway C3 (1400m)
#2 – The Dramatist @ $9.50
Value is with The Dramatist, who is always around the mark in the Highway Handicap races.
The six-year-old owns three wins and six placings from 15 starts, and he has yet to finish worse than second in two starts at Rosehill.
Barrier 17 isn’t ideal, but that’s the only negative.
Race 5. (14:50) Midway BM72 (1200m)
#12 – Shadows of Love @ $3
Shadows of Love was a good thing beaten at Randwick, so punters should give her another chance.
She has good form guides throughout her career, and after two runs back from a spell, she should show her best form.
Getting in with 55kg adds to her appeal.
Race 6. (15:30) James Squire Hot Danish Stakes (1400m)
#1 – Royal Merchant @ $2.60
Royal Merchant should appreciate the easier field after finishing two lengths behind Espiona.
The daughter of Merchant Navy has yet to fire at the track and distance, but she owns four wins from 15 starts.
The class is there, and we’re happy to include her in our picks.
Race 9. (17:25) Ranvet BM78 (1400m)
#1 – Gringotts @ $2.30
We love betting on Gringotts, and he got the job done nicely at Randwick last time out.
The four-year-old gelding by Per Incanto owns four wins and four placings from nine starts, so he has been an excellent bet throughout his career.
He can keep paying, so don’t jump off his back.
Race 10. (18:05) Rosehill Bowling Club BM78 (1200m)
#10 – Gustosisimo @ $2.25
The three-year-old son of Exceed and Excel has looked good winning his last two starts, and he has more to come.
He won by two lengths against a tidy field last time out, and dropping to 52kg makes him a weighting special on Saturday.
Expect the $2.25 to firm on race day.
