Rosehill horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (12:10) Tab Highway C3 (1200m)
#6 – Tribeca Star @ $3.90
Tribeca Star has been around the mark throughout his career, including a win and five placings.
The four-year-old son of Star Turn placed at his only start at Rosehill, and rising to 1200m after running third over 1100m is ideal.
We’re happy to take the odds available.
Race 2. (12:45) Canadian Club BM78 (1500m)
#3 – I’mintowin @ $4
I’mintowin is a former New Zealand runner, now with the Waterhouse/Bott stable, and he could make a winning Australian debut.
The four-year-old son of Contributer comes off a win at Randwick, which holds him in good stead for this race.
He has form around smart types, and the odds are generous.
Race 3. (13:20) Tab BM78 (1900m)
#8 – Mountain Guest @ $3.50
Mountain Guest kicked off this preparation with wins at Kembla Grange and Newcastle.
The John Sargent-trained four-year-old wasn’t too far behind Renaissance Woman at Randwick last time out, which is a good form guide.
Carrying 55kg against this company adds to his appeal.
Race 4. (14:00) Chandon BM78 (1200m)
#2 – Shohei @ $2.25
Money is with Shohei, who owns two wins and a placing from three fresh up starts.
The Hawkes-trained five-year-old has yet to race at Rosehill, but with two wins and four placings from seven starts, he has class.
We’re happy with the odds available for the favourite.
Race 5. (14:40) Toyota Forklifts BM78 (1300m)
#5 – Overriding @ $2.70
The Nathan Doyle-trained mare looked good when running third fresh up, which is a good form guide.
She is a four-time winner from eight starts, including his only start over the distance, which is a good form guide.
It’s not an easy field, but he has plenty of upside.
Race 6. (15:20) Four Pillars Midway BM68 (1500m)
#10 – Backrower @ $9
We said last time we’re giving Backrower one more chance, but we’re going back to the well.
The four-year-old son of Astern wasn’t too far behind the winner last time out at Rosehill, and at least this time punters get value odds.
It’s last chance saloon, but the odds are too good to pass up.
Race 9. (17:20) Rosehill Gold Cup (2000m)
#6 – Canberra Legend @ $2.60
Canberra Legend is a European runner who comes off a last-place finish by 16.8 lengths.
However, he has been very well backed, and that’s always a good sign when the Europeans come to Australia.
Carrying 53kg adds weight to his chances, and he could be well-backed on race day.
Race 10. (15:55) Schweppes BM78 (1100m)
#2 – Tristate @ $4.50
Tristate won at Rosehill two back by two lengths, which is the best form reference for this race.
The five-year-old son of Headwater followed it up with a fourth at Randwick, and getting 3kg off his back is ideal.
Punters get each-way odds, and we’re happy to include him in our selections.
