Sandown horse racing tips & form
—
Race 1. (12:25) Ladbroke It Maiden (1300m)
#12 – Wolfy @ $2.15
Wolfy ran well to finish second on debut at Caulfield and the form out of that race is good enough for midweek racing.
The three-year-old colt by Tivaci had solid betting support on that occasion, so getting $2.15 is a fair price from bookmakers.
Take the odds available before they shorten.
Race 2. (13:00) Ladbrokes Racing Club Maiden (1000m)
#3 – Miss Black Diamond @ $3.30
Miss Black Diamond is getting close to breaking through after three consecutive second placings.
The Waterhouse/Bott-trained four-year-old ran second at Bendigo last time out, which should be a good form guide.
Barrier three is ideal and she could sit on the speed and kick.
Race 3. (13:35) Ladbrokes Hub BM64 (1000m)
#15 – Nokhbah @ $2.70
Nokhbah was far too good for her opposition at Pakenham last start, so another win could be on the horizon.
The five-year-old won by 3.8 lengths on the synthetic, and although racing on grass is different, she has experience running second on debut.
Barrier 11 isn’t easy, but she is the best horse in the field.
Race 4. (14:10) Ladbrokes Communities BM64 (2400m)
#1 – Pachino @ $4.20
Pachino gets some weight relief with Billy Pinn in the saddle, which helps the allotted 62kg.
The five-year-old showed good speed and winning at Sandown last start, and he’s good enough to win back-to-back.
Punters get each-way odds to snap up.
Race 5. (14:45) Ladbrokes Odds Surge BM64 (1600m)
#3 – Colombe D’or @ $4.50
Colombe D’or returned from a spell with a tidy winning effort at Werribee in heavy conditions last month.
The daughter of Rubick owns two wins and two placings from five starts, so she doesn’t know how to run a bad race.
That’s a good attribute, and the odds are worth taking.
Race 6. (15:20) Stow Storage Solutions BM70 (1800m)
#4 – Jabbawockeez @ $4.50
Looking to dance his way back into the winners’ circle is Jabbawockeez, who won well at Sandown Lakeside two back.
The five-year-old is already a two-time winner this preparation, so he doesn’t need to improve much to take this out.
Having Damien Oliver riding adds weight to his chances.
Race 7. (15:55) Senet Law Experts BM70 (1300m)
#8 – Rheinberg @ $1.85
Rheinberg was scratched last start when running as a short-priced favourite, but punters haven’t missed him this time around either.
The Hayes-trained gelding scored impressively at Sale to kick-start his preparation, and he’s good enough to rise through the grades.
He only needs luck from barrier 12 to justify the odds.
Race 8. (16:30) Royal Meeting Early 2YO (1300m)
#1 – Nunthorpe @ $2.70
Nunthorpe has a lot of ability in the tank after winning her first two race day starts.
The four-year-old mare returns to the track following a third placing at Flemington behind Revolutionary Miss, which is grand form.
She should be too smart for them, but watch late betting moves.
