Sandown horse racing tips & form
—
Race 1. (15:40) Sportsbet Same Race Multi Maiden (1200m)
#9 – Quickster @ $1.85
Quickster showed speed last preparation against stronger opposition, so this looks like an ideal target.
The three-year-old filly by Shamus Award ran second at Pakenham on debut before racing at The Valley and Caulfield.
This is a massive drop in class and she could dominate off the front.
Race 2. (16:15) Fierce Impact BM70 (1200m)
#3 – Lost @ $2
Lost deserves to be the favourite following a fresh up placing at Caulfield, which is excellent midweek form.
The three-year-old filly is in good hands with James Cummings, and she is the one to beat from a good barrier.
Jamie Kah rides, so take the $2 before it firms.
Race 3. (16:50) Tobin Brothers Celebrating Lives Handicap (1000m)
#10 – Yes Lulu @ $4.50
Yes Lulu has looked good at the Cranbourne jumpouts, and she could make a winning debut.
The two-year-old filly opened at $9 before getting hammered with early betting markets, which is a good sign.
Her odds could continue to firm, so take the each-way odds available.
Race 4. (17:25) Sportsbet Set a Deposit Limit BM64 (1000m)
#7 – Outback Miss @ $2.40
Outback Miss is unbeaten after two starts, and we thought she would be shorter with bookmakers.
The daughter of Rubick won on debut at Bendigo before winning at Caulfield by two lengths over Scorsese.
That form has stacked up well enough, so with the help of a 1.5kg claim, she should be fighting out the finish.
Race 5. (18:00) Thoroughbred Club Australia BM64 (1600m)
#4 – The Real Thing @ $4.20
The Real Thing turned his form around when running third at Sandown last start and we’re happy to stick with him.
He was only a length behind the winner as a $9.50 chance, and we’re not surprised to see his odds firm for this race.
He owns two wins from 10 starts, so he could get back to his best form on Wednesday.
Race 6. (18:30) World Pool at Caulfield C1 (1500m)
#6 – Rocking the Boat @ $5
Rocking the Boat showed a good turn-of-foot to win on debut at Sandown, so there’s no reason to jump off her back.
There is more depth to this field, but the daughter of Ocean Park gets all favours off the inside draw with Luke Currie riding.
Take the each-way odds before they firm on race day.
Race 7. (19:00) Tile Importer BM64 (1200m)
#4 – Pia Mia @ $5
Ciaron Maher lines up Pia Mia, who scored a good maiden win at Stony Creek before placing at Sandown last time out.
The three-year-old filly by Lonhro shows good barrier speed, which is always a positive when racing on this track.
It’s a tough field but getting 1.5kg off her back helps.
Race 8. (19:30) Sportsbet Make It Look Easy C1 (1200m)
#10 – Tango Jewel @ $7.50
Tango Jewel is getting close to posting another win after four consecutive placings, and the odds appeal.
She is a $7.50 chance against an even field, and coming off a third placing at Moonee Valley is solid form for this race.
She only needs luck from the draw to figure in the finish.
