Sandown horse racing tips & form
—
Race 1. (13:00) Ladbroke It Maiden (1500m)
#5 – Gold Bullion @ $2.20
Gold Buillon comes off consecutive placings at Wyong and Randwick, and it’s only a matter of time before he breaks through.
The Waterhouse/Bott team is firing on all cylinders, and the three-year-old son of Savabeel has more upside than most.
Take the $2.20 before it shortens.
Race 2. (13:35) Ladbrokes Racing Club BM64 (1000m)
#2 – Austmarr @ $1.75
Austmarr turned around two second placings with a win at Cranbourne, which is an excellent form guide.
The three-year-old filly by Exosphere won by 1.3 lengths as an odds-on favourite, and the money has come again.
We’re including the shorts in our multis.
Race 3. (14:10) Ladbrokes Hub BM64 (1300m)
#3 – Akicita @ $2.10
We are taking another short-priced favourite, but it was hard not to be impressed by Akicita on debut.
The three-year-old colt by Grunt scored by 3.5 lengths at Pakenham, and although it came on the synthetic, it was classy.
We expect late money to come for him, so $2.10 isn’t a bad price.
Race 4. (14:45) Ladbrokes Yards Comments BM70 (2400m)
#6 – Hereforagoodtime @ $6.50
Hereforagoodtime is struggling to win, but she runs some of her best races at Sandown.
The six-year-old son of Tavistock owns a win and four placings at the track, and two wins over the distance.
Punters get each-way odds and they’re worth snapping up.
Race 5. (15:20) Ladbrokes Odds Surge BM70 (1400m)
#2 – Eternal Flame @ $2.50
Eternal Flame was too good for them last time out at Sandown and a double could be on the cards.
The four-year-old mare by Sacred Falls is already a two-time winner from five starts, and she wasn’t far away at Flemington two back.
Barrier eight is tricky, but she has time to find cover.
Race 6. (15:55) Ladbrokes Same Race Multi BM70 (1300m)
#10 – Boldinho @ $5.50
Boldinho has improved with every run this preparation, including a second placing last time out.
The four-year-old son of Brazen Beau is better than most of these runners, and he’s getting close to scoring a long overdue victory.
Getting each-way odds is generous from bookmakers.
Race 7. (16:30) Thoroughbred Club Australia BM78 (1800m)
#4 – Legend of Dubai @ $2.10
Legend of Dubai is another runner knocking on the door after running second at The Valley, which is a strong form guide.
The six-year-old is a former European, who will appreciate the rise distance having just run at 1600m.
After opening at $2.50, the money has throughout the week.
Race 8. (17:05) Lockettled BM78 (1000m)
#14 – Get Up Girl @ $5
Get Up Girl owns two wins from four starts, including last time out at Cranbourne.
The Clinton McDonald-trained mare gets all favours off the inside draw, and with only 55kg on her back, she will be tough to run down.
$5 is a fair price from bookmakers for a promising type.
