Race 2. (17:45) Warragul Country Club Maiden (1600m)
#11 – Frankfurt @ $2.60
Frankfurt was a $1.85 favourite on debut when running fourth, but it was a fair effort first time to the races.
The three-year-old son of Santos opened at $2.80 before being well-backed throughout the week, which is a good sign.
Take the odds before punters climb in.
Race 4. (18:45) Evergreen Turf Maiden (1000m)
#9 – Doubting Eye @ $3.10
Doubting Eye ran second at Morphettville two back, and something close to that run would be good enough.
The three-year-old comes off a fourth at Ballarat as an $11 chance, but we’re not surprised by the shorter odds this time around.
This race is there for the taking, and he has upside.
Race 5. (19:15) Sportsbet Bet with Mates BM64 (1100m)
#6 – Coast Princess @ $2.80
Coast Princess didn’t fire at Flemington last time out, but dropping in grade is a bonus.
The three-year-old filly by Russian Revolution won at Pakenham two back when breaking maidens, which is a tidy form guide.
We’re not surprised by the money coming for her.
Race 6. (17:45) Modra Technology C1 (1400m)
#1 – Russian Meteor @ $3.30
Russian Meteor did the job nicely on debut at Pakenham, so having winning form on the track helps.
The four-year-old son of Russian Revolution hit the line in good fashion as a $31 chance, so it was a big upset.
After opening at $5, his odds have firmed considerably.

Race 1. (12:45) Senpos Point of Sale BM64 (1600m)
#6 – Broadway Bouncer @ $3.20
Broadway Bouncer comes off wins at Newcastle and Hawkesbury, so his form is the best betting guide for this race.
The three-year-old son of Kermadec had to battle for the win last time out, and he could rise through the grades.
$3.20 is better than we thought punters would get.
Race 2. (13:20) Wiseberry Heritage Midway Maiden (1350m)
#6 – Miss Artfire @ $2.35
Miss Artfire didn’t do much wrong when running sixth on debut, and she should have improved with the spell under her belt.
The four-year-old daughter of Flying Artie has looked good at the trials, including a win and four consecutive placings.
We expect more money to come for her throughout the week.
Race 4. (14:35) C’Coast Coolroom Da Vinci BM64 (1300m)
#3 – Razors @ $2.10
James Cummings lines up the three-year-old gelding who won well fresh up at Wyong before placing at Hawkesbury.
The son of Sidestep was only a nose behind River Snitty, and that form should hold up nicely against this company.
James McDonald comes to ride, which is a good sign.
Race 7. (16:25) 2023 Carlton Wyong Gold Cup (2100m)
#7 – Hosier @ $5
Hosier wants a soft track and the seven-year-old could get conditions to suit.
The son of Camelot won at Randwick in fine style last time out, which is the best form guide for this provincial cup race.
Getting $5 is a fair price for the loose favourite.
