Geelong
—
Race 2. (14:00) JT Dixon Packaging Maiden (1321m)
#5 – Galano @ $4.80
Galano ran sixth on debut at Rosehill, which is a much stronger form guide than most in this race.
The three-year-old colt by Snitzel wasn’t far behind some smart types, so racing at Geelong is more his level now.
Money has come and that’s not surprising.
Race 4. (15:00) Geelong Homes Maiden (1221m)
#5 – Alsonso @ $3.90
Alsonso ran at Flemington at his first two career starts before finishing second at Cranbourne last time out.
The three-year-old son of Zoustar ran second behind Austmarr, which is an excellent form guide for a maiden race.
We expect his odds to firm considerably.
Race 6. (16:00) Rex Gorell Volkswagen BM64 (2400m)
#1 – Fire Glo Too @ $3.40
Fire Glo Too won well two back at Sandown before placing over this distance last time out.
The six-year-old was only a nose behind the winner, so there is nothing wrong with that form going forward.
Getting the inside draw adds weight to his appeal.
Race 8. (17:00) Wilsons Real Estate BM64 (1221m)
#8 – Miss Galore @ $3
The four-year-old mare won on debut at Ballarat before placing at Morphettville last time out.
The daughter of Per Incanto comes off a trial placing at Cranbourne, and this race is well within her reach.
It could pay to watch for any late betting moves.

Newcastle
—
Race 1. (12:50) GTS Lawn Pride Australia BM68 (1600m)
#3 – Pushy @ $2
Pushy is unbeaten after two starts, including a win at Newcastle last time out.
The three-year-old son of Time Test has been prepared with a trial placing at Randwick, which is ideal form.
Getting $2 for Pushy is a fair price from bookmakers.
Race 3. (14:05) Rarity Wholesale Maiden (1400m)
#4 – Koning @ $4
Koning was close on debut when placing at Kembla Grange, which should be a good form guide.
The three-year-old colt by Kingman doesn’t need to improve much to win, and getting barrier three is ideal.
Punters should jump on the each-way odds.
Race 6. (15:55) Yarraman Park Stud Tibbie Stakes (1400m)
#1 – Wollombi @ $3.90
Wollombi is getting close to scoring a win this preparation after two starts this campaign.
The four-year-old mare by Extreme Choice owns three wins over the distance, and she’s still an improving type.
Money is starting to come, and she could win the co-feature.
Race 7. (16:35) Sharp Office Newcastle Gold Cup (2300m)
#2 – Cleveland @ $4.50
Cleveland wasn’t far away when fourth at Randwick behind Hosier, and running on a good surface will help turn the tables.
The six-year-old son of Camelot is better than his form suggests, so the import could score an overdue win in Australia.
Look for him flashing home late.
