Sha Tin horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (19:00) Racing Goes on Handicap (1400m)
#1 – Maximize Heart
Maximize Heart looked good winning two back at Sha Tin and anything close to that effort will be enough.
The six-year-old son of Holy Roman Emperor followed it up with a third placing at Sha Tin, so there’s nothing wrong with his form.
Getting the inside draw is a bonus.
Race 2. (19:30) World-Class Leadership Handicap (1200m)
#7 – Cool Blue
Cool Blue has mixed form to date, but we’re happy to stick with the four-year-old son of Foxwedge.
He finished second at Sha Tin two back behind Smokey Bear before running fourth, but he was under a length from the winner.
Barrier 14 makes it tough but he needs only luck.
Race 3. (20:00) The Guangdong Hong Kong Handicap (1200m)
#1 – Baby Crystal
Baby Crystal owns a win and four second placings from seven starts, which is tough to overlook.
The four-year-old son of Per Incanto won at Sha Tin in January before heading out for a spell, and he should be fitter after two runs.
Zac Purton rides and he should be tough to beat.
Race 4. (20:30) The Hong Kong Reunification Cup (2000m)
#9 – Meaningful Star
Meaningful Star has yet to fire in five attempts at Sha Tin, but his confidence levels are up after winning consecutive races.
The six-year-old is a six-time winner from 26 starts overall, which is a tidy record, and punters should get value odds.
Look for something around the $9 mark.
Race 5. (21:10) Uncompromising Integrity Handicap (1000m)
#6 – Midas Touch
Midas Touch ran well on debut for fifth before improving to run second last time out at Sha Tin.
The three-year-old was only a length behind the winner, and he doesn’t need to improve too much to win his maiden.
Hugh Bowman rides off the inside draw, so include him.
Race 6. (21:40) Serving the Community Handicap (1600m)
#3 – Master of Fortune
Master of Fortune scored by 1.5 lengths three starts back and anything close to that performance takes him close.
The four-year-old son of Fastnet Rock hasn’t been far away in two runs since, and punters should expect another tidy effort.
Barrier six is ideal and he should get a nice run in transit.
Race 7. (22:10) Continuous Development Handicap (1400m)
#6 – Joyful Genius
Joyful Genius hasn’t always been the most consistent type going around, but he won well two starts back.
The five-year-old son of Hinchinbrook followed it up with a placing at Happy Valley, but his best form comes at Sha Tin.
Punters should get each-way odds.
Race 8. (22:40) Riding High Together Handicap (1000m)
#2 – Dream Winner
Dream Winner has been impressive in winning both career starts, but punters shouldn’t expect big odds.
The three-year-old won on debut by 5.2 lengths before winning by 2.5 lengths last start as a $1.10 chance.
He will be longer here, but still a short favourite.
Race 9. (23:15) Sportsmanship Handicap (1200m)
#2 – Dancing Code
Dancing Code scored his first win in Hong Kong last time out and the former Australian could go back-to-back.
The son of Panzer Division won at Newcastle before being sold, and his form in Hong Kong has been excellent.
We expect him to be right around the mark.
Race 10. (23:50) Better Future Handicap (1400m)
#5 – Storm Legend
Storm Legend comes off consecutive wins and we’re happy to include him in our selections.
The five-year-old son of Night of Thunder won by 2.5 lengths before scoring by a nose last start, so the form checks out.
4.5kg comes off his back to help.
