—
Race 1. (13:18) Oge Group Architects Handicap (1000m)
#6 – Barbie’s Sister @ $1.65
Barbie’s Sister runs at very short odds following a dominant trial win, and she’s worth including in multis.
The two-year-old filly won by seven lengths over 650m, which is tough to do, hence the short odds.
Tony Gollan could have a smart type on his hands.
Race 2. (13:53) Archer Park Racing BM78 (1600m)
#5 – Rising Pacific @ $2.35
Rising Pacific comes off three consecutive wins, including wins at Ipswich, Eagle Farm, and Doomben.
The four-year-old son of Preferment won all three races over the mile, so staying at 1600m right up his alley.
He only needs a touch of luck from the draw.
Race 3. (14:28) Accurate Road Profiling Services (1600m)
#2 – Felix the Scat @ $6.50
Value is with Felix the Scat comes off a fourth at Eagle Farm, and some of his best form comes second-up.
The three-year-old didn’t end last preparation with much form, but he’s better than advertised, so we’re sticking with him.
Punters get each-way odds to snap up.
Race 4. (15:03) Kendrick Racing C3 (1200m)
#4 – Helluva Barty @ $2.70
Helluva Barty owns three wins from seven starts, including last time out at Doomben.
The four-year-old son of Hellbent owns a placing from his only attempt at Sunshine Coast, and having experience at the track helps.
We’re not surprised by the shortening odds.
Race 5. (15:38) Innovative Planning Solutions BM68 (1800m)
#12 – Kapakiri @ $6.50
Kapakira was too good for them at Eagle Farm last time out when winning by 2.8 lengths.
It was a good effort to break maiden grades and he’s easily good enough to rise through the grades this season.
Barrier 17 is the only worry but include him in selections.
Race 6. (16:17) Landmark Resort & Spa C6 (1200m)
#12 – Freedom Rally @ $3.40
Freedom Rally showed his best form last preparation when winning three on the bounce.
The four-year-old gelding by Rubick owns four wins from six starts, and his most recent run came at Rosehill behind Chorlton Lane.
He’s in good hands, and he only needs a touch of luck.
Race 7. (16:57) Travis Schultz & Partners BM85 (1400m)
#8 – Cottee @ $3.70
Cottee is gunning for three consecutive wins after scoring twice at Eagle Farm.
The four-year-old mare by Merchant Navy is unbeaten at Sunshine Coast and at the distance, so the statistics bode well.
Most of the money has come for her, which bodes well.
Race 8. (17:32) Tab Mooloolaba Cup (1600m)
#1 – Great House @ $7
Great House is slowly getting back to good form after placing at Eagle Farm last time out.
The seven-year-old son of Galileo owns two placings at the distance from as many starts, and he’s good enough to handle the big weight.
After opening at $8.50, money has come for him.
Race 9. (18:11) The Wharf Mooloolaba Swiss Ace Plate (1000m)
#1 – Prince of Boom @ $2.50
Class is with Prince of Boom, who owns eight wins from 17 starts, and he has big wins on his record.
The five-year-old gelding won the Ascot Handicap fresh up last preparation, so something similar would be enough.
He’s got the money in the bank, and he’s our top pick.
Race 10. (18:50) Sunshine Coast Business Solutions Handicap (1000m)
#1 – Party for Two @ $3.30
Party for Two kicked off this prep with a classy win, and we’re backing her to win again.
The three-year-old filly by Sidestep is a three-time winner from eight starts, and she gets 2kg off her back.
$3.30 is a fair price from bookmakers.
