Swan Hill racing tips
—
Race 1. (13:30) Bet365 Top Tote Plus Maiden (2400m)
#4 – Dashing Donkey @ $2.10
Dashing Donkey has only one placing from 15 starts, but he meets a maiden field that’s there for the taking.
The five-year-old gelding by Wayed Zain comes off a tidy fourth at Ballarat, and that should be a good form guide for this level.
Getting the inside draw is another bonus.
Stake: 3 Units
Race 2. (14:00) Jarrod Arentz Electrical Maiden (1600m)
#6 – Slugworth @ $3.20
Slugworth has had two runs at Cranbourne for a fifth and a third, and natural progression should take him close.
The three-year-old son of So You Think was no match for Divine Thoughts last start, but it has since run well up in class.
Getting $3.20 is a fair price from bookmakers.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 3. (14:30) Ultima Hotel Maiden (1300m)
#4 – Quizlet @ $7.00
Quizlet comes off a second placing at Swan Hill, and he doesn’t need to improve much to beat this field.
The four-year-old son of Exosphere placed at his only start at Swan Hill, and there is no reason why he can’t go one better.
Punters get $7.00 odds, and we’re happy to include him in our picks.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 4. (15:00) Footts Swan Hill Demolition Maiden (975m)
#4 – The Ineos @ $3.10
The Ineos is a two-time trial winner from seven attempts, so he’s fit and ready to fire on debut.
The Payne-trained four-year-old won a trial at Donald before placing at Murtoa last start, and it’s good to see money coming for him.
More money could come for him on race day.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 5. (15:30) Pooles Accountants BM58 (975m)
#6 – Immortal Weapon @ $4.40
Seeking consecutive wins is Immortal Weapon, who scored at Mildura by a length last time out.
The three-year-old gelding by I Am Immortal paid $2.35 when breaking maidens, so punters get value odds for him to rise in class and win.
It’s an even field, so he could take advantage.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 6. (16:00) Busbiz BM58 (2400m)
#3 – Midnight Lady @ $2.15
Midnight Lady has been threatening to win a race this preparation and she doesn’t know how to run a bad race.
The five-year-old daughter of Highland Reel owns a win and nine placings from 13 starts, so punters get a consistent runner to back.
The odds aren’t big, but she’s worthy of the price.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 7. (16:30) The Bottle-O Swan Hill BM64 (1600m)
#1 – Eskimo @ $2.80
Eskimo won well at Seymour three back before placing at Tatura and Murtoa at his last two starts.
The four-year-old gelding by Shalaa was a short margin behind Cruz Missile last start, and that’s an excellent form guide.
The $2.80 is well worth including in multis on Tuesday.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 8. (17:00) McLardy McShane Insurance BM64 (1300m)
#8 – Jammin Jimmy @ $3.40
Seeking consecutive wins is Jammin Jimmy, who scored at Seymour by a nose last time out.
The five-year-old son of Jimmy Creed showed a nice turn-of-foot to score, and he should only get better over longer distances.
His odds are shortening, so take the value available.
Stake: 2 Units
