Hawkesbury racing tips
—
Race 1. (12:40) Hawkesbury Cup Day Maiden (1300m)
#1 – Summer Soiree @ $2.00
Summer Soiree is getting close to a win after finishing second at Newcastle last time out.
The three-year-old filly by Russian Revolution opened at $1.90 before drifting, but the odds are now more backable.
We’re happy to include her in selections.
Race 3. (13:50) Tab We’re on Midway Maiden (1400m)
#2 – Good Once @ $3.50
Good Once looks to cap off three consecutive placings with a win, and we’re with him.
The four-year-old gelding by Dubleo owns seven placings from 10 starts, so he’s deserving of a victory.
There are no potential superstars in this field, so we fancy his chances of taking advantage at each-way odds.
Race 4. (14:25) Sky Racing BM64 (1400m)
#6 – Fiddlers Green @ $2.45
Fiddlers Green was a touch expensive for punters at Newcastle, but we’re sticking with him for one more run.
The three-year-old has enough ability to put a few lengths on this field, and he should get all favours in the run.
There won’t be any excuses this time around, so take the odds before they shorten on race day.
Race 6. (15:40) Richmond Club BM64 (2000m)
#4 – Kingdom of Logres @ $3.60
Kingdom of Logres has been right around the mark this preparation, and it’s time he crossed the line first.
The four-year-old gelding by Camelot owns two wins and two placings from seven starts, and he loves running over the distance.
His odds have drifted, but we’re not worried by the lack of market confidence.
Pakenham racing tips
—
Race 1. (17:15) Nobody Does It Easier Maiden (1200m)
#2 – Creek @ $2.20
James Cummings lines up Creek, who is getting close to a win after three placings from five starts.
The three-year-old colt by Sidestep comes off a third placing at Sandown behind Icarus, which stacks up nicely for racing at Pakenham.
Most of the early money has come his way, which helps.
Race 3. (18:15) Fulmen Park Maiden (1600m)
#1 – Calvary Man @ $4.60
Calvary Man did well to run second at Pakenham two back before finishing fourth at Sandown.
The Mike Moroney-trained three-year-old was only 1.5 lengths behind the winner at $10.00 odds, and we’re not surprised he’s shorter here.
His odds are expected to shorten on race night.
Race 5. (19:15) Plusvital BM64 (1400m)
#5 – Dakarai @ $4.80
Dakarai is already a two-time winner this preparation, including last time out at Pakenham.
The four-year-old son of Siyouni won his only start at Pakenham, so having winning form on the track is a bonus.
Getting the inside draw is another positive for the talented type.
Race 7. (20:15) G’Day Ink Tattoo Studio Handicap (1600m)
#3 – Worcester @ $2.50
Worcester capped off consecutive placings with a win at Bendigo, and he’s good enough to kick on with it.
The four-year-old gelding by Vadamos scored by 1.5 lengths as a $2.00 chance, so punters get better odds this time around.
We can’t see him being phased by the rise in grade.
