Wyong racing tips
—
Race 1. (13:15) De Bortoli Wines Maiden (1100m)
#2 – Bo Katan @ $2.15
Bo Katan showed enough ability last preparation to warrant attention fresh up.
The three-year-old comes off a third placing at Canterbury, which came in July, so he has been off the scene for some time.
His trial form is good enough to back him with confidence.
Race 3. (14:25) Wyong Leagues Group BM64 (2100m)
#3 – Counter @ $3
Chris Waller lines up Counter, who owns seven placings from 11 starts, which is a handy record.
The four-year-old is overdue a victory, and coming off second placings at Canterbury and Newcastle is excellent form.
He only needs luck from the draw to win.
Race 5. (15:40) PBL Law Group Super Maiden (1350m)
#11 – Starmae @ $2.50
Starmae owns three second placings from five starts, so we’re sticking with her.
The three-year-old filly by Zoustar gets all favours off an inside draw, and jockey Zac Lloyd has been riding in good form.
$2.50 is getting short but she has upside.
Race 7. (16:55) Central Coast Coolrooms Midway BM64 (1350m)
#3 – Navy Blood @ $4.20
Navy Blood is already a two-time winner from four starts, including at Gosford last time out.
The three-year-old colt by Merchant Navy won by a half-length last time out, which should be a solid form guide.
Include him in selections at the price before it firms.

Race 2. (18:15) John Duff & Co Maiden (2550m)
#2 – Knentii @ $2.35
Knentii is getting awfully close to winning after posting five consecutive placings.
The four-year-old son of Mongolian Khan owns seven placings overall, so his consistency could be rewarded.
The addition of blinkers could sharpen him up.
Race 3. (18:45) Work Armour Solutions BM64 (2550m)
#5 – Dubai Moon @ $4
Dubai Moon has rattled off three consecutive wins at Hanging Rock, Moe, and Pakenham.
The six-year-old stayer won by five lengths last time out, which is the best form guide for a similar race on Thursday.
Getting 3kg off his back adds to his appeal.
Race 4. (19:15) Sportsbet Future Stars Maiden (1200m)
#11 – Miss Cardannic @ $2.40
Miss Cardannic isn’t far from breaking through for her maiden win following consecutive placings at Pakenham.
The three-year-old filly by Street Boss was three lengths behind the winner last start, but she didn’t have all favours out wide.
The $2.40 could firm on race night, so take the odds now.
Race 7. (20:45) Shanks Electrical BM58 (1600m)
#2 – Ferlazzo @ $5.50
Ferlazzo is a value runner at $5.50 following a second placing at Geelong.
The four-year-old mare owns two wins and five placings from 12 starts, and she runs best over this distance.
She’s another runner getting 3kg off her back, so she’s tough to overlook.
