Hawkesbury racing tips
—
Race 1. (13:15) Hawkesbury Super Maiden (1500m)
#7 – Jawharat Dubai @ $2.40
Getting close to a maiden win is Jawharat Dubai, who finished third at Randwick last time out.
The Annabel Neasham-trained filly needed time to strengthen up, and she looks like a nice middle-distance type in the making.
At this level, we expect her to fire up.
Race 2. (13:50) HRC Motel Maiden (1110m)
#1 – Ny Kee @ $11.00
Named after the goddess of victory, Ny Kee could score an overdue win on Thursday.
The Snowden-trained three-year-old comes off consecutive placings at Newcastle and Wyong, so the form checks out.
We’re surprised by the odds, but happy to take them.
Race 5. (15:35) Pioneer Services BM68 (1800m)
#1 – Pioneer Lass @ $5.00
Makes sense for Pioneer Lass to win the Pioneer Services BM68, and getting 3kg off her back adds to her appeal.
She won earlier this preparation at Kembla Grange before struggling a touch, but she added placings at Rosehill and Gosford, which bodes well.
We’re happy to have her in our selections at the price.
Race 7. (16:45) XXXX Gold BM64 (1600m)
#1 – La Vesuvius @ $4.20
La Vesuvius was good enough to win three consecutive races last campaign, so it won’t take him long to win this time in.
The four-year-old gelding ran fifth fresh up at Newcastle, and he usually improves with a run under his belt.
He gets weight off his back, and we’re taking the each-way odds.

Race 2. (18:15) Wood Waste Recycling Maiden (1200m)
#7 – Starton @ $1.95
Starton is getting close to a win after consecutive placings, and despite dropping in distance, he should win.
The three-year-old son of Tosen Stardom owns two placings at Pakenham, so he’s well-versed at the course.
There isn’t much to this field, so take the shorts.
Race 4. (19:15) Bon Hoysted Apprentices Cup BM64 (1400m)
#8 – I Never Dreamed @ $2.90
I Never Dreamed won well on debut at Swan Hill before racing at Pakenham and Moonee Valley.
She defeated only one runner in a small field at The Valley, but there wasn’t much covering the field.
There has been solid betting support for her, and that’s the best sign.
Race 6. (20:15) Bunyip Equipment Maiden (1400m)
#7 – Nakoa @ $2.05
Nakoa ran fifth on debut at Sandown as a $16.00 chance, but she has attracted more support this time around.
The four-year-old mare by War Front comes out of a good form race, which has since seen the second-placed horse win.
We expect her to run well at short odds.
Race 7. (20:45) Australian Racing Tours BM64 (1600m)
#1 – Magarten @ $3.70
Magarten loves running at Pakenham after posting two wins from four starts.
The four-year-old gelding by Maurice is only a two-time winner from 14 starts, but he’s never too far away from the action.
Getting 3kg off his back adds to his appeal.
