NBA Saturday Tips
New York Knicks vs Indiana Pacers @ Gainbridge Fieldhouse
The New York Knicks have stunned the Pacers in two home games, but now they need to win on the road as the betting underdog.
Despite the Pacers holding a second-half lead in both games so far, they have been unable to close them out, which is a big concern.
They had a 10-point halftime lead on Thursday before giving up that lead in a few minutes. Jalen Brunson has single-handedly destroyed them, but he’s battling an injury, so his fitness is being questioned for Game 3 on Saturday.
OG Anunoby is also in doubt to play, which is why bookmakers have the Pacers at –6.5, and that’s a fair line.
We’re not sure why coach Rick Carlisle keeps TJ McConnell on the sidelines during the clutch moments. He was giving Brunson fits, so we’re hoping McConnell gets more game time this time around.
We also expect better play from Tyrese Haliburton. He filled the stat sheet in Game 2, but he went missing in the second half. He looked lost, and that’s not what they need from their best player.
Despite the many failings of the Pacers, this is a game they should control from the outset. They play at home against an injured Knicks team, and they defeated the Knicks easily in their only home meeting during the regular season.
Take the –6.5 line before it moves. Most of the money has come for the Pacers throughout the week.

Denver Nuggets vs Minnesota Timberwolves @ Target Centre
The Nuggets have been hit in the mouth by the Timberwolves, so the defending champions need to rebound.
They lost both home games and scored 80 points in Game 2, which was a shocking offensive effort from the likes of MVP Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.
Punters can’t expect the Nuggets to play that poorly again, but we still expect them to lose and go down 3-0 on the road.
The Timberwolves are one of the best teams in the NBA, and they’re finally living up to expectations. Anthony Edwards is playing beyond his years, and Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert has enforced how important defence is.
The entire team has subscribed to playing top-level defence, and keeping a team like the Nuggets to 80 points is unheard of.
Momentum is clearly with the home team, who are the –4.5 favourites to take a 3-0 lead. We expect them to match up well again, and having the home fans behind them adds to their appeal.
We expect to see the Timberwolves in the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics, so naturally we’re backing them to win and cover the spread.
