South Africa vs. Australia Predictions

Best Bet

South Africa -13.5 @ $1.90

Beware a wounded South Africa. The Springboks don’t often lose consecutive home games, and although they’re playing without their captain, we’re picking them to bounce back and put Australia to the sword on Sunday.

They had a 22-0 lead last week before giving up 38 unanswered points. It was a dismal collapse for the former Rugby Championship favourites, but Australia isn’t always the most consistent team, and we expect the Wallabies to come back down to earth.

We cashed with the +17.5 line with ease last week, but we see South Africa winning by at least two converted tries. It will come out with force and look to get back into contention.

Same Game Multi

South Africa -13.5, Cheslin Kolbe Anytime Try Scorer, Canan Moodie Anytime Try Scorer, Over 51.5 @ $10.25

It could be a try-fest for South Africa, so we’re backing Cheslin Kobe and Canan Moodie to score.

Kolbe is always a threat with his speed, and although he wasn’t at his best last week, we expect a much better game from him on Sunday. He is a $2.10 chance to score a try, which is much better than we expected from bookmakers.

Moodie is the favourite to score a try at $1.72. He’s another insane speedster for South Africa, and he could come of age against Australia. We’re happy to include him in our Rugby Championship SGM picks.

Best Value Bet

Canan Moodie First Try Scorer @ $7.50

Speed is good to have as a rugby player, and it should give Moodie a good chance at scoring the opening try.

Australia’s defence was opened early last week before being much better in the second half, but if South Africa starts fast again, it should be Moodie breaking through the line or going around defenders with ease.

Take the $7.50 as a value bet.
