Friday 26/4/19

5:35pm Crusaders vs. Lions @ Rugby League Park

These two teams have gone in different directions since last year’s final, but the Lions did do well to beat the Chiefs last week so we have to respect that.

For the Crusaders, it has been business as usual this season and losses have been a rare sighting. They scored a massive 43-17 win over the Highlanders before having a rest last week.

That’s only going to help their chances against the Lions and much like the bookmakers, we’re expecting this to be one-way traffic.

8:00pm Sunwolves vs. Highlanders @ Chichibunomiya Stadium

We are loving the improvement the Sunwolves have shown this season and they pushed the Hurricanes to within six points last week.

Playing at home will help the Japanese-based side as they prepare to take on the Highlanders, which scored a quality 24-12 win over the Blues last week.

It has been tough to predict the games from both of these sides this season but we’re sticking with the Highlanders, who are the better team.

Bookmakers have the line at 10.5 which should make for an interesting game.

Saturday 27/4/19

5:35pm Hurricanes vs. Chiefs @ Westpac Arena

This all-New Zealand clash should be an exciting affair and one of the better games of not only this week, but the Super Rugby season.

The Hurricanes needed a second half comeback to beat the Sunwolves in Japan last week, whereas the Chiefs were upset losers to the Lions.

A better showing will be needed by the Chiefs this week but they haven’t had to travel like the Hurricanes have. That could play a big part in the result of this game.

The current betting line is set at 10.5 and that heavily favours the Chiefs, who have plenty of fire power in the tank.

7:45pm Waratahs vs. Sharks @ Western Sydney Stadium

The Waratahs looked good last week when scoring an upset win over the Melbourne Rebels and they might be able to continue that momentum here.

It has been an awkward season for the Waratahs, as a lack of consistency and off-field dramas have hurt their chances, but they can look good.

Sharks enter this week having lost to the Reds at home last week. Losing to the Reds on home soil isn’t a loss any team wants on your record, so a big bounce-back performance will be needed here.

The South African sides have had a tendency to improve significantly week-to-week so we’re predicting an upset result.

11:05pm Stormers vs. Bulls @ Newlands Stadium

The Bulls enjoyed a week off last week, which came after scoring a good 32-17 win over the Reds at Loftus Versfeld in Round 9.

The Stormers looked good in Round 9 when beating the Rebels by 17 points but they couldn’t back it up last week when losing to the Brumbies by two points.

They didn’t lose many admirers with the loss but a better showing will be needed to hold off the in-form Bulls.

Bookmakers have framed this as the most even market of the week and we’re hardly surprised. It’s a tough game to call but we’re sticking with the Stormers here.

Sunday 28/4/19

7:40am Jaguares vs. Brumbies @ Estadio Jose Amalfitani

This should be an intriguing game between two offensive-minded teams and it should give punters something to wake up for on Sunday morning.

Jaguares had the bye last week, which could have been a bad thing for them after they scored a 51-17 win over the Sharks in Round 9.

The Brumbies are looking to continue their momentum after scoring consecutive wins. Wins over the Lions and Stormers have put them in a solid position in the Australian conference and that could continue here.

There shouldn’t be much between these two teams on Sunday so we’ll take the value on offer with the Brumbies.
