Super Rugby Pacific Round 7 Tips
—
Friday 7/4/23
5:05pm Crusaders vs Moana Pasifika @ Orangetheory Stadium
The Crusaders are extremely firm favourites to beat Moana Pasifika, and rightfully so after scoring a 25-12 win over the Reds last week.
It hasn’t been a vintage season for the Crusaders, who trail the Chiefs in the New Zealand Conference, but they should target this game as an easy win.
Moana was thrashed 45-17 by the Highlanders last week, so if they get beaten by 28 points by the Highlanders, the Crusaders should put up a much bigger number.
Bookmakers have the Crusaders at –30.5, which is a big line to cover, but with ideal conditions, they should be far too good.
Betting tip: Crusaders –30.5 @ $1.90

7:35pm Reds vs Brumbies @ Suncorp Stadium
We were impressed with the way the Brumbies responded to beat the Waratahs 40-36 last week, which should give them plenty of encouragement.
It has earned them the right to be favourite for this game against the Reds. They are 4.5 favourites on the road against the Reds, who didn’t produce much of an offensive effort against the Crusaders last week.
We expected more from the Reds, who had home field advantage on that occasion as well. They will need to play much better to be competitive.
The Brumbies look to have more upside, so we’re putting them on top.
Betting tip: Brumbies –4.5 @ $1.90

Saturday 8/4/23
5:05pm Highlanders vs Hurricanes @ Forsyth Barr Stadium
We are not sure what to make of the Hurricanes’ win last week. They scored 45-42 against the Force, but they were playing at home, and allowing the Force to score 42 points is worrying.
Therefore, coming off an impressive win over Moana, the Highlanders could be the value play on Saturday night.
They have steadily improved throughout the year, so getting +8.5 points from bookmakers should be an attractive bet.
There is also value in their head-to-head odds at $3.60, but we’ll take the safer bet.
Betting tip: Highlanders +8.5 @ $1.90

7:35pm Rebels vs Blues @ Melbourne Stadium
The Blues played well enough to beat the Chiefs last week, but the 20-13 defeat will leave a sour taste in their mouth.
It was a game that got away from the Kiwi franchise, so they will look to punish the Rebels on Saturday to ease the pain.
The Rebels were easily beaten by the Drua last week, so they’re not playing well enough, and the Blues should feel comfortable in covering the –12.5 margin set by bookmakers.
They could pile on the points early and score convincingly.
Betting tip: Blues –12.5 @ $1.90
