EPL Week 27 Expert Tips & Predictions

The Premier League title race looks to be all but done, with Liverpool now holding an 11-point gap over the chasing pack and time is running out for anybody to catch them. Midweek action here pits 2^nd vs 3^rd, as Arsenal travel to Nottingham Forest, whilst the likes of Manchester City in pursuit travel to Tottenham, hinting that there could be plenty of drama on the agenda this week too. Down at the bottom of the pack, Ipswich Town, Leicester City and Southampton are in danger of being cut adrift, with Wolves beginning to stretch away above them.

Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa – Selhurst Park

Crystal Palace will be looking to build on their very good win at Fulham last time out, as they host Aston Villa. Palace have been in fine fettle in 2025 and whilst their home form has been surprisingly patchy, Oliver Glasner’s side are beginning to look like a side capable of pushing on into the top half. Villa meanwhile came from behind to beat Chelsea last weekend in a big result for the club, but this is a tough assignment on the road and their away form has been patchy. This is a tight one to call, with a draw potentially on the cards.

Wolves vs Fulham – Molyneux

Climbing away from the relegation zone is the key for Wolves currently and with a great win on the road at Bournemouth, Wanderers are starting to believe survival could well be on the cards. Next up is a home clash with Fulham, a side that are struggling for consistency under Marco Silva of late but who remain one of the most dangerous sides in the division on their day. This should be a very close one, which could be nicked by either side but home advantage could see Wolves get over the line.

A south coast derby of sorts pits Brighton and Bournemouth against each other, in what should be a very good one at the AMEX. Brighton have recovered well from their 7-0 thumping at the hands of Nottingham Forest, winning their last 3 games and they are beginning to look like a side that could push into the European picture come the end of the campaign. Bournemouth meanwhile are looking to kick on with their top 4 push but need to bounce back from a loss at home to Wolves last weekend. This will be tight and perhaps a draw is the most plausible prediction.

Chelsea vs Southampton – Stamford Bridge

Chelsea will be eager to inflict further misery on Southampton, as the blues look to get their top 4 bid back on track. Enzo Maresca’s side are struggling for form and consistency and whilst they are still in the mix for a Champions League place next season, they need to start turning things around here. Southampton meanwhile are languishing at the foot of the table and their relegation looks set to be confirmed, sooner rather than later. Chelsea need a win and should get one at home here.

Goals should be on the agenda here, as Tottenham host Manchester City in North London. Ange Postecoglou has overseen a mini resurgence at Spurs of late and they will be arriving here full of confidence. City meanwhile suffered losses to Real Madrid and Liverpool in the past week and look to be struggling for fluency. They remain a very dangerous side, and they will have a good go at Spurs in this one, but the hosts should come out on top in a goal fest.

Brentford and Everton are two sides chasing a top half finish and they meet here in West London. The Bees picked up a resounding 4-0 win at Leicester last Friday and look to be a side more than capable of pushing on between now and the end of the campaign. David Moyes has seriously improved the mood at Everton of late and he will want to see his Toffees challenge Brentford in this one. This should be a very good watch for the neutral and both sides could end up settling for a draw.

Manchester United’s struggles have continued under Ruben Amorim, but they picked up a point at Everton last time out and will be looking to build upon that here at Ipswich. The Red Devils have also been off the boil at home, with Old Trafford a far cry from the fortress it once was, and they will be looking to appease their home fans against Ipswich. The Tractor Boys are struggling to cope with the demands of the Premier League and United should manage to pick them off in this one.

The race for a Champions League place comes into sharp focus here, as Arsenal travel to Nottingham Forest. The Tricky Trees find themselves 3^rd in the table but they have lost 3 of their last 4 games and need to turn things around in this one. Arsenal meanwhile suffered a home loss to West Ham last time out and have seen Liverpool stretch away from them at the top of the Premier League tree. This will be cagey, and Arsenal should manage to pick up a tight win on their travels.

Champions-elect Liverpool look primed and ready to win their 2^nd Premier League title, with Newcastle the next side to visit Anfield. A big win at Manchester City last weekend felt significant for Liverpool, who showed the maturity of a title winning side and they will be eager to press home their advantage here against Toon. For the Magpies, this is a bit of a free hit in their top 4 battle, but their away form has been poor of late, and Liverpool should pick them off.

Fresh off the back of their excellent win at Arsenal last time out, West Ham will be looking to continue their good form with a home win here over Leicester City. The Hammers are coming to terms with life under Graham Potter and are beginning to look like a team that could push on for a top half finish come the end of the campaign. Leicester meanwhile are in a real pickle down at the bottom of the pile, with pressure mounting on Ruud van Nistelrooy. This should be a good one, with West Ham most likely to come out on top.
