Race 1. (13:19) Tabtouch Westspeed Platinum (1600m)
#5 – Fortune’s Luck
Fortune’s Luck is getting close to a win after posting a second placing at Ascot last start.
The four-year-old mare by Safeguard owns four wins from 16 starts, and this is an open field to start the day.
We’re happy to include her in selections at the odds.
Race 2. (13:54) Schweppes 1MW (1600m)
#3 – Yarralea
Yarralea capped off consistent form with a win at Ascot, so we’re backing her to win again.
The Neville Parnham-trained mare defeated Fortune’s Luck by a short margin, so the form in the first race could be franked.
Getting the inside draw could be enough to see her win.
Race 3. (14:29) Amelia Park Lamb BM66 (1400m)
#8 – Cerridwyn
Cerridwyn hasn’t been the most consistent this season, but she owns four wins and four placings from 13 starts.
The five-year-old mare by American Pharoah is a two-time winner this campaign, and getting an inside draw is a bonus.
Having Damian Lane in the saddle adds to her chances.
Race 4. (15:06) Amelia Park Beef BM66 (1800m)
#8 – Bondi’s Future
Bondi’s Future has been a consistent winner for punters, and there’s no reason to jump off his back.
The three-year-old son of Bondi owns four wins and three placings from nine starts, and carrying 54kg adds to his appeal.
Look for a betting push on race day.
Race 5. (15:46) V&V Walsh 1MW (1000m)
#8 – Barney’s World
Barney’s World did enough when running fourth fresh up at Ascot to be included in our selections.
The three-year-old son of Epaulette is always close to the win, so there is no reason to bet against him at the odds.
He should get everything run to suit.
Race 6. (16:24) Furphy Handicap (1200m)
#6 – Twain’s Angel
Twain’s Angel won both starts last preparation, and she has been primed with consecutive trial wins at Belmont Park.
The three-year-old daughter of Toronado drops to 53kg, and that makes her awfully tough to beat on Saturday.
We expect her to be the one they need to run down.
Race 7. (17:03) Amelia Park Karrakatta Plate (1200m)
#2 – Bustling @ $2.60
Bustling owns two wins from three starts, and there’s nothing wrong with that form for one of the feature races.
He is a promising son of Frosted, who was too smart for them at Ascot last start as a $1.90 chance.
This is a harder field, but he’s the one they need to beat.
Race 8. (17:45) The Quokka (1200m) – GROUP 1
Read our full The Quokka preview here – including best bets, trifecta and first four picks!
Race 9. (18:25) The Drummond Golf Joey (1200m)
#16 – Laced Up Heels @ $4.80
Laced Up Heels got back to winning form at Ascot last start, and she’s worth backing again.
The four-year-old mare by Toronado owns four wins from 14 starts, so her records speaks for itself.
We love the odds available despite the field being tough.
Race 10. (19:00) Tabtouch BM66 (1100m)
#4 – Lexington City
Lexington City has yet to win this preparation, but he was excellent last campaign.
The five-year-old owns four wins and six placings from 19 starts, so he’s always around the mark, including a second placing at Ascot last start.
He should be fighting out the finish in a tough race.
