Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Tips & Predictions
—
Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Best Bet – Rory McIlroy
We think McIlroy presents punters with a better winning opportunity than Rahm, so we’re taking the $8.00 odds available.
The Northern Irishman choked away a win at the Irish Open when finishing second, before finishing second when losing in a playoff to Billy Horschel.
It was been a year of near misses for the 35-year-old, and it’s taking its toll mentally. However, he’s playing well enough to put himself in winning positions, and that’s all we can ask for.
Rahm has also been playing well, but we’re surprised he’s joint favourite with McIlroy, who is better suited to European Tour golf.
Bet: Rory McIlroy @ $8.00
Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Best Value – Billy Horschel
Horschel always saves his best golf for Europe, and that was evident when winning the BMW PGA Championship last month.
The 37-year-old American had been struggling with his game for quite some time, but holding off McIlroy in the playoff was a fine display of golf.
He’s now a two-time winner of the BMW PGA, and an eight-time winner on the PGA Tour, including the 2024 Corales Puntacana Championship. That win came against a moderate field, but it was still a solid outing.
His form has returned and getting $25.00 to win and $3.20 for top 10 is worth taking.
Bet: Billy Horschel @ $25.00
Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Next Best – Alex Noren
Alex Noren has been playing solid golf in 2024, including finishing T9 at the BMW Championship on the PGA Tour before finishing T30 behind Horschel on the European Tour.
The 42-year-old Swede hasn’t won since 2018 when taking out the French Open, but he’s overdue a win and it could come this week.
His best golf includes wins at the European Masters, British Masters, and BMW PGA Championship, so he has beaten top-quality fields throughout his career.
Punters get $28.00 for Noren to win, and we believe he’ll be right around the top of the leaderboard.
Bet: Alex Noren @ $28.00
Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Best Roughie – Talor Gooch
LIV star Talor Gooch has many detractors, but what better way to silence critics than to win this week in Europe.
He’s a prolific winner on the LIV Tour, and although that form hasn’t translated well at the majors, he’s still solid enough to beat this field.
There hasn’t been much money come for him in betting markets at $46.00, but he could be the forgotten player in the field, and we’re happy to take the odds.
Bet: Talor Gooch @ $46.00
Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Top 30 – Rasmus Hojgaard
We like Rasmus Hojgaard to finish in the top 30 at $1.83.
The 23-year-old Dane won the Irish Open when coming from behind to beat McIlroy, and although he finished outside the top 30 at the BMW, he was likely still celebrating the win.
He’s a quality young golfer with the world at his feet, and we think he’ll be on the first two pages of the leaderboard, so include him in golf multis.
Bet: Rasmus Hojgaard Top 30 @ $1.83
