Phoenix Open Tips & Predictions

Phoenix Open Best Bet – Scottie Scheffler

We picked Scheffler to win last week in his return to the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, and although he didn’t win, finishing T9 in his comeback was a good effort.

The American loves playing at the Phoenix Open, having won in 2022 and 2023, and February/March/April is the best time to back him. He does the majority of his winning in these months, so it’s time to cash in.

He led the field in strokes gained approach, and he was 63/63 with putts inside 3-5 feet, so his putting was excellent and that’s a good sign. Scheffler’s putting has long been his weakness – if he has one – so we’re confident everything will go well this week.

Punters get $4 odds for Scheffler, and he’s the clear top pick.

Bet: Scottie Scheffler @ $4.00

Phoenix Open Best Value – Corey Conners

A Canadian in Nick Taylor won the Phoenix Open last year and we’re backing countryman Corey Conners in 2025.

He didn’t play his best golf at Pebble Beach last week when finishing T65, but he showed his ability earlier in the year when posting a T5 at The Sentry, which was won by Matsuyama. That was a fine performance and he could get back to his best at the Phoenix Open.

There has been solid betting support for Conners throughout the week at $38. Punters also get value odds for a top 10 finish at $4.20, so we’re happy to back him on an each-way basis with Phoenix Open odds.

Bet: Corey Conners @ $38.00

Phoenix Open Next Best – Sepp Straka

We cashed in with Sepp Straka at The American Express a few weeks ago, and there is no reason to jump off his back.

He had a good chance to win last week but we suffering from a bout of illness, which could have made an impact on his final round. Straka still posted a good result, and he’s one of the more improved players on the PGA Tour over the last year.

The Austrian knows what it takes to hold off a good field, and although Scheffler is playing, not having the likes of Rory McIlroy and Collin Morikawa – not to mention the LIV players – in the field adds to his chances of more success on the PGA Tour.

Straka is a $38 chance to win and $2.45 for a top 20 finish, which is money for jam.

Bet: Sepp Straka @ $38.00

Phoenix Open Top 20 – Rickie Fowler

We cashed in the $4.20 for Jason Day to finish in the top 20 last week (13th) and we’re lining up Rickie Fowler at the Phoenix Open.

Backing Fowler hasn’t been easy for punters over the last few years, and the glory days of Fowler, Thomas, and Spieth winning consistently are well and truly over. However, Fowler always seems to play well in Phoenix.

The 2019 champion got back to winning form when taking out the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic, so he has a recent win under his belt, and getting $3.10 for a top 20 finish at a course he’s won at is good shopping.

Bet: Rickie Fowler @ $3.10
