Zurich Classic of New Orleans Tips & Predictions
—
Zurich Classic of New Orleans Best Bet – McIlroy/Lowry
Rory McIlroy won The Masters earlier this month before skipping last week at the RBC Heritage, which isn’t surprising. He needed time off to celebrate his win, but he’ll be keen to win consecutive Zurich Classic of New Orleans titles with Lowry.
Lowry has also been playing excellent golf, and although it has been years since winning on the PGA Tour as a solo player, he should take plenty of confidence from his win in this event last year, which came dramatically in a playoff.
They’re the only team quoted at single-figure odds with golf betting markets, and that’s with good reason.
Bet: McIlroy/Lowry @ $4.50
Zurich Classic of New Orleans Best Value – Rai/Theegala
Aaron Rai is one of the more underrated players on the PGA Tour, and he’s ranked inside the top 25 in the world.
The former DP World Tour player is typically around the mark in the lower-graded PGA Tour events, and teaming up with the talented Sahith Theegala only adds to our confidence.
They are PGA Tour wins as solo players, and with Rai being one of the straighter players on tour, combined with the creativity of Theegala, they could work well.
Punters get $26, and we think they’re being disrespected by bookmakers.
Bet: Rai/Theegala @ $26.00
Zurich Classic of New Orleans Next Best – Horschel/Hoge
It’s good to see Billy Horschel back to his best golf after going a couple of years without doing much.
The American teams up with countryman Tom Hoge this week at the Zurich Classic, and we think they have a good chance of going close.
Horschel won the Corales Puntacana Championship last year to post his eighth tour win, which includes the BMW Championship, Memorial, and the TOUR Championship. However, his career started with a win in the Zurich Classic before it moved to a pairs tournament, which he also won in 2018 with Scott Piercy.
He loves the track, and Hoge is playing well enough to combine for the win.
Bet: Horschel/Hoge @ $26.00
Zurich Classic of New Orleans Top 10 – Hojgaard/Hojgaard
We are big fans of the Hojgaard brothers, and we believe at least one of them will become a household name at some point.
Despite being not quite as electric as fellow Scandinavian Ludvig Aberg, the Danish brothers are nearing a big showing on the PGA Tour, and they have already posted solid results in their limited time in the US.
Being brothers, they should have more experience than most playing this format, so they’re a good top 10 chance at $3.75, which is a great price.
Bet: Hojgaard/Hojgaard @ $3.75
