Bendigo Racing Tips for Wednesday, October 28th 2026First race in 18h 16m

It’s Bendigo Cup Day, and a last chance for many to improve their position in the Order of Entry for the Melbourne Cup. It’s an important day in Victoria, and punters get a nine-race card to enjoy on what should be a drying track.

Race 1. (12:50) RSN Bendigo 945am 3YO Maiden (1000m)

#6 - Scoville @ $2.80

BET NOW

Scoville could be a hot runner after finishing second behind Aroused on debut, who has since run well at stakes level.

The Ciaron Maher-trained filly was three lengths behind the impressive winner, but it was a nice debut effort behind a smart one.

It shouldn’t take her long to break maidens, so put her on top.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 2. (13:25) Catanach's Jewellers BM64 (1300m)

#3 - Purgatorio @ $3.10

BET NOW

Purgatorio is enjoying a good preparation, including a win two back at Ballarat before placing at Geelong last time out.

The three-year-old gelding by Hellbent won’t be too worried by the small field, and having Craig Williams riding is a bonus.

We expect a positive ride, and it could be enough to get him home.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 3. (14:00) Wild Plumbing BM66 (1100m)

#3 - Savoyard @ $7.00

BET NOW

Savoyard has been a graveyard for punters this season, but we’re giving the highly touted gelding another chance at this level.

The son of Winning Rupert showed ability last preparation, and after contesting BM84 and BM70 races this time in, dropping to BM66 is ideal.

He should be able to win in this grade, so give him another go.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 4. (14:35) BRB Electrical BM66 (2400m)

#1 - Yahoo Bar @ $6.00

BET NOW

Yahoo Bar was only a short margin behind the winner last start at Seymour, which should be an ideal form guide for this race.

The Liam Howley-trained gelding is a two-time winner from 15 starts, and there isn’t much winning form to speak of here.

3kg comes off to help with the big weight, so include him in picks.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 5. (15:10) Prestige Event Hire BM70 (1600m)

#11 - Cushioned @ $5.00

BET NOW

Cushioned has been tough to follow recently, but she hasn’t been too far away in two runs this preparation.

The four-year-old mare by Ghaiyyath was just over a length behind the winner at Cranbourne, and slight improvement is enough to beat this field.

54kg with Williams riding should see her form improve.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 6. (15:45) Bendigo Locksmiths BM78 (1100m)

#4 - Fission @ $15.00

BET NOW

Fission isn’t the luckiest horse going around, but it was good seeing him run well for third at Seymour last start.

The experienced seven-year-old won his only start at Bendigo, so coming back to this track is ideal, and he could sneak under the radar.

We’re happy to include him in our picks, as a win isn’t far off.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 7. (16:20) Jarrod Larkin Concreting BM70 (1300m)

#3 - Dirty Look @ $2.20

BET NOW

Shooting for three consecutive wins is Dirty Look, who owns three wins and two placings from six career starts.

The four-year-old mare by Super Seth found the line impressively to score at Cranbourne last start, and he stays in the same grade.

60.5kg is a rise in weight, but she’s strong enough to carry it.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 8. (16:55) Ladbrokes Bendigo Cup (2400m)

#4 - So You Are @ $4.80

BET NOW

So You Are has been winning comfortably in Sydney, and we would love to see him run in the Melbourne Cup.

He settles better than most in the run, and he keeps grinding away in the straight to put some handy staying fields away.

Rachel King retains the ride, and So You Are is good enough to compete against this level of opposition, and his confidence couldn’t be higher.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 9. (17:30) The Sporting Globe After the Last BM78 (1400m)

#8 - Coco Jen @ $13.00

BET NOW

Coco Jen didn’t fire in two runs last preparation, but we’re giving her another chance with a spell under her belt.

The six-year-old mare made a good start to her career with three wins and three placings from six starts, so despite her last two flops, she could rebound.

Her recent trial effort was solid, so she looks ready to run a good race.

Stake: 1 Unit
