Morphettville horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (12:32) Grand Syndicates Handicap (1100m)
#12 – Aviatress @ $1.95
Aviatress kicked off her career with consecutive wins before finishing fourth last time out.
Returning from a spell should see her get back to her best, and we’re not surprised by the shortening odds.
We expect her to fire up on Saturday.
Race 2. (13:07) Breeders’ Stakes (1200m)
#1 – Growing Empire @ $2.90
Growing Empire hasn’t done much wrong in his career, including a last start win.
The two-year-old colt by Zoustar won at The Valley, and having form in Melbourne always bodes well in Adelaide.
He only needs luck from the wide barrier to win.
Race 3. (13:42) PFD Food Services Chairman’s Stakes (2000m)
#3 – Warmonger @ $3.30
Warmonger didn’t get all favours fresh up before finishing second last time out.
He’s knocking on the door, and although his odds have drifted after opening at $2.90, we’re not worried about that.
Having Damian Lane in the saddle helps his chances.
Race 4. (14:17) John Hawkes Stakes (1100m)
#6 – What You Need @ $3.80
What You Need needed the fresh up run according to that trainer, so expect a better effort this time around.
The four-year-old son of Supido started his career in fine style, and dropping to 54kg makes him tough to beat.
We’re happy with the drifting each-way odds.
Race 5. (14:52) Tobin Breeze Stakes (1200m)
#1 – Arkansas Kid @ $3.80
Arkansas Kid is overdue a win, and he had not drawn barrier 16, he would be much shorter in betting markets.
The three-year-old colt has faced tough fields throughout his career, so he should find this much easier.
Getting $3.80 for a runner of his class is too good to pass up, so take the odds before they shorten.
Race 6. (15:27) Queen of the South Stakes (1600m)
#1 – Campionessa @ $5.50
Campionessa didn’t have all favours in Sydney last time out, so punters should expect a bounce back effort.
The Kiwi runner gets the services of James McDonald, and after opening at $7.50, there has been solid betting support.
Look for her to get back and hit the line with power, and there should be solid speed up front, which helps her cause.

Race 9. (17:20) Thomas Farms Handicap (1600m)
#1 – Chicago Storm @ $4.20
Chicago Storm can be tough to follow, but the five-year-old gelding comes off an impressive win.
The son of Trust in a Gust is a confidence runner, so now that he has crossed the line first, he could keep winning.
Having Carleen Hefel in the saddle helps as she’s riding well, so we’re happy with the each-way odds available.
