Morphettville horse racing tips

Race 1. (12:00) Carbine Club BM80 (2030m)

#4 – Mahis Angel – Bet Now

Mahis Angel paid a good price when winning on this track last start and he should be shorter this time around.

The Travis Doudle-trained gelding has done plenty of travelling throughout his 19-start career and he looks to have made a home in South Australia.

He’s classy at best and worth another play.

Race 2. (12:35) M&J Chickens National Stakes (1200m)

#8 – Zoushine – Bet Now

Yet to win from three starts, Zoushine could improve on recent form to win this race. The two-year-old filly set the pace and held on for third last start, but it was a solid effort.

She’s going to be better for the experience and it doesn’t often take the progeny of Zoustar long to breakthrough.

Watch for any late betting moves.

Race 3. (13:10) Holdfast Insurance BM72 (1050m)

#10 – Fortune Follows – Bet Now

Will Clarken lines up the gelding that is coming off a win at Morphettville. The son of Akeed Mofeed made good ground to win and it bodes well for his future.

Some luck will be needed from barrier nine but he’ll likely settle back from the draw and come with a late burst once again.

Punters should get good odds on race day.

Race 4. (13:45) Schweppes BM64 (1200m)

#9 – Defiant Dancer – Bet Now

It’s an even field and despite drawing barrier 17, he could be tough to beat. The three-year-old has placed in three of his four starts this season, including a third placing at Caulfield.

It’s good form for this level of racing and he had not drawn barrier 17, he would have been short in the betting.

Keep him safe and if the luck comes, he should be going close.

Race 5. (14:25) TAB SA Classic (2500m)

#5 – Stick ‘Em Up @ $3.90 – Bet Now

The three-year-old filly scored by two lengths at Newcastle last start and although it wasn’t easy, it was a good guide for this race.

She has been prepared for this distance nicely and John Sargent knows how to train stayers. Her opening odds of $3.60 have drifted and punters should get an even better price.

We’re expecting another tidy effort.

Race 6. (15:05) AAMI Centaurea Stakes (2030m)

#13 – Oasis Girl – Bet Now

Oasis Girl couldn’t have been more impressive when romping home by six lengths at Caulfield last start.

The Ellerton/Zahra-trained filly sat on the speed and never gave her opposition a chance. This is a different test now, but punters had to be impressed with that effort.

Carrying 53kg is going to make her even harder to beat.

Race 7. (15:45) R A Lee Stakes (1600m)

#9 – Harbour Views @ $2.70 – Bet Now

The five-year-old produced a good effort for third last start and he’s only going to get better with racing. He handles all tracks and with five wins from seven starts, he’s a class act in the making.

Money should come for him throughout the week and with only 55kg on his back and John Allen in the saddle, he’s the one to beat.

Race 9. (17:05) Tab Proud Miss Stakes (1200m)

#10 – Too Good Too Hard @ $8 – Bet Now

There wasn’t much wrong with the run of Too Good Too Hard last start, so she’s worth sticking with.

The daughter of All Too Hard is a four-time winner from nine starts and she should be right in contention for this run.

Her only worry is the draw but keep her safe.
