Starts in 2d 7h The AFL continues this week with Round 24 action, starting with St Kilda vs. Gold Coast on Thursday night.
We have AFL betting tips for every game in 2026, including this week’s featured games between Collingwood vs. Brisbane, Carlton vs. Fremantle, and Melbourne vs. Western Bulldogs.
Thursday 20/8/26
7:30pm St Kilda vs. Gold Coast @ Marvel Stadium
Betting Tip: St Kilda -10.5 @ $1.90

We thought the line would be bigger for St Kilda against Gold Coast, so we’re jumping on the -10.5 line from bookmakers.
The Saints were too good for Richmond last week, and although they didn’t face a top-level team, it could have been tricky one for them.
Gold Coast hasn’t shown much for most of the year, so our confidence levels are low for the visitors. Take the -10.5 line before it moves throughout the week.

Friday 21/8/26
7:40pm Collingwood vs. Brisbane @ MCG
Betting Tip: Brisbane -20.5 @ $1.90

Pressure can do a lot for a team sitting in 8th spot on the ladder, which is why we’re taking Brisbane to win comfortably.
The Lions are playing well at the right time of the year, which is why bookmakers have them at -20.5, which is a bigger line than expected.
However, based on their projections, we have Brisbane continuing its run to the finals.

Saturday 22/8/26
1:15pm Carlton vs. Fremantle @ Marvel Stadium
Betting Tip: Fremantle -10.5 @ $1.90

It’s a tricky game to predict because Fremantle doesn’t need to win, but they should want to enter the finals with a win under their belt.
Carlton comes off a costly draw against the Bulldogs, which has put a lot of pressure on them this week. It could be too much for them to handle, so we’re going with a team that knows how to win games.
Getting Fremantle at -10.5 is rare, so we’re jumping on the line.
Fremantle by 10
4:15pm Melbourne vs. Western Bulldogs @ MCG
Betting Tip: Melbourne -17.5 @ $1.90

We were impressed with Melbourne’s performance last week, and they could enter the finals with plenty of momentum on their side.
The Demons improved to 5th on the ladder, which is a good effort considering pre-season expectations, and they should hand the Bulldogs a loss.
The -17.5 line is what we expected with AFL odds, and Melbourne could pull away late.

7:45pm Geelong vs. Richmond @ GMHBA Stadium
Betting Tip: Richmond +60.5 @ $1.90

We backed Richmond to cover the spread last week, and they didn’t come close, but this is a situation that should favour them.
Geelong has been playing well but covering a -60.5 line is tough against a team looking to play the spoiler, and Richmond could be competitive.
It’s not our most confident AFL bet this week, but we’re taking the underdogs to make a game of it.

8:10pm Adelaide vs. GWS @ Adelaide Oval
Betting Tip: Adelaide -23.5 @ $1.90

Adelaide has fallen to 7th on the ladder, which didn’t look likely a few weeks ago. However, their recent struggles could turn around against GWS.
The GIANTS haven’t been in good form for most of the season, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see their season end with another heavy loss.
Class and home field advantage is with Adelaide, so back them to cover the -23.5 spread.

Sunday 23/8/26
12:20pm Essendon vs. Port Adelaide @ Marvel Stadium
Betting Tip: Essendon +13.5 @ $1.90

This game comes down to attitude, and although Essendon has wrapped up the wooden spoon, they could play with more energy than Port Adelaide.
There is some value with backing the Bombers with a +13.5 line and at $2.60 with head-to-head markets, especially playing at home.
Port isn’t playing well either, so it will be an interesting contest to kick off Sunday AFL action.

3:20pm Sydney vs. North Melbourne @ SCG
Betting Tip: Sydney -30.5 @ $1.90

Sydney wants to enter the AFL finals with a full head of steam, and that could be achieved with a big win against the Kangaroos.
The Swans are currently in second position on the ladder, which is a good place to be, and they should want to send a message as the -30.5 favourites.
At the SCG, the Swans should have too much in the tank.

7:20pm West Coast vs. Hawthorn @ Optus Stadium
Betting Tip: West Coast +43.5 @ $1.90

Hawthorn sits precariously in 4th spot on the ladder, and West Coast could give them a scare on Sunday night.
The Eagles have nothing to play for but pride, and although they haven’t been good recently, the Hawks have been disappointing at times, especially as big betting favourites.
We predict a closer game than bookmakers do, so take the line.
