Rosehill horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (12:30) Midway BM72 (1300m)
#1 – Brimstone @ $9.00
Brimstone is a former Kiwi runner who almost got back to his best form at Rosehill two weeks ago.
The son of Smart Missile handles all conditions, and it’s only a matter of time before he scores a win in Australia.
Having Tim Clark riding helps his cause.
Race 2. (13:05) Neville Sellwood Stakes (2000m)
#2 – Serpentine @ $3.70
Serpentine scored an overdue win at Randwick last start, so he’s worth sticking with now.
The seven-year-old son of Galileo is only a four-time winner, but he’s a 2020 Derby winner, and that class never goes away.
Getting the inside draw with 55kg helps his cause.
Race 3. (13:40) Hyland Race Colours Baillieu (1400m)
#6 – Linebacker @ $1.95
Looking to remain unbeaten is Linebacker, who was impressive when winning by four lengths on debut.
The win came only at Hawkesbury in heavy conditions, but we loved the way he found the front and kicked clear.
Punters must take short odds, but he’s worth including in multis.
Race 4. (14:15) Toyota Forklifts Tulloch Stakes (2000m)
#3 – Wymark @ $3.30
Wymark was a class above them when scoring at Rosehill, and another win looks likely for the three-year-old.
He is a quality son of Savabeel, who has risen through the grades in impressive fashion, and he could win at the stakes level.
We expect his odds to firm on race day.
Race 5. (14:50) Canadian Club Emancipation Stakes (1500m)
#5 – Olentia @ $8.50
Olentia showed her best form early on, but we’re happy to give her another chance on Saturday.
The Chris Waller-trained four-year-old is a five-time winner, and she wasn’t far away when running fourth at Rosehill.
Getting $8.50 is well worth snapping up.
Race 6. (15:25) Egroup Star Kingdom Stakes (1200m)
#4 – Shinzo @ $6.50
Shinzo is better than what he has been showing recently, and he could hit the ground running.
The Golden Slipper winner could fall into the trap of not kicking on with it as a three-year-old, but the ability is clearly there.
With James McDonald riding, he’s good enough to figure in the finish.
Race 7. (16:00) Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) – GROUP 1

Race 9. (17:15) Racing and Sports Doncaster Prelude (1500m)
#17 – Another Wil @ $1.90
Another Wil has been excellent in Melbourne, winning his last three races without breaking a sweat.
The Maher-trained four-year-old won at Sandown, Caulfield, and Flemington, with the latest win coming by 4.5 lengths.
Going the other way around isn’t easy, but he’s a dynamic type and a Doncaster Handicap type.
Race 10. (17:55) HKJC World Pool BM88 (1400m)
#15 – Willaidow @ $3.90
Willaidow owns four wins and two placings from nine starts, including a win at his only start at Rosehill.
He was only second at Kembla Grange last start, but he showed good barrier speed, and that’s a positive.
Dropping to 54kg makes him a worthwhile bet.
