NBA Sunday Tips

Milwaukee Bucks vs Indiana Pacers @ Gainbridge Fieldhouse

The Pacers are favourites to win their opening playoff game, and they could take advantage of a Bucks team that’s not at their best.

Milwaukee has struggled to show its best form this season, and being 20-20 on the road doesn’t help their cause against a Pacers team that is 29-11 at home. That’s why the Pacers are $1.44 favourites, and we expect them to cover the –5.5 spread.

Having home court advantage in the playoffs is ideal for the Pacers, and Tyrese Haliburton could show why he’s an All-Star.

Betting tip: Indiana Pacers -5.5 @ $1.90

Los Angeles Clippers vs Denver Nuggets @ Ball Arena

There is nothing between the Clippers and Nuggets on paper, but there are a few things in favour of the Nuggets on Sunday.

They have experience winning the NBA Championship two years ago, Nikola Jokic is playing at an MVP level, and they get home court advantage. Therefore, we’re locking in the $1.72 available in Game 1 of the West 1st Round.

Jokic averages 29.6 points per game, and he has been playing at high levels approaching the playoffs. He scores easily close to the rim, and although the Clippers have depth, they don’t match up to the depth of the Nuggets.

Betting tip: Denver Nuggets @ $1.72

Detroit Pistons vs New York Knicks @ Madison Square Garden

There is a lot of talk about the Pistons being a chance to win the Eastern Conference, but we can’t see it happening, and we can’t see them progressing past the Knicks.

New York posted a 51-31 record during the regular season, and it should get the playoffs started with a win over the Pistons as a $1.35 favourite. The current line is –7.5, which is a sizable line, but the Pistons don’t have much playoff experience.

That’s where the Knicks have the advantage, and we expect a big game from Jalen Brunson. He’s one of the best players in the NBA, so include him in NBA multis for the big game.

Betting tip: New York Knicks –7.5 @ $1.90

Knicks by 11

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Los Angeles Lakers @ Crypto.com Arena

The Lakers are a real chance of winning the NBA title, despite what NBA betting markets suggest. They’re being underrated, and with Luka Doncic in the team, anything is possible.

Doncic isn’t always the most switched-on player, but with LeBron James by his side, he should be focused for a deep playoff run, and it starts with a Game 1 win over the Timberwolves, who lack the depth of the Lakers.

With Doncic, James, and Austin Reaves all capable of putting up big numbers, the Timberwolves should struggle to cover the +4.5 line, so take the Lakers to cover.

Betting tip: Los Angeles Lakers –4.5 @ $1.90

Lakers by 8
