Big Bash League Week 3

Monday 20/12/21

7:15pm Perth Scorchers vs Hobart Hurricanes @ Blundstone Arena

The Perth Scorchers are unbeaten after three games and we don’t expect that record to take a hit on Monday night.

They play the Hobart Hurricanes, who haven’t found much to begin their season. Despite winning their first game in style, they lost two subsequent games.

Punters get $1.64 for one of the best teams in Big Bash, which is great value.

Betting tip: Perth Scorchers @ $1.64Bet @ Sportsbet

Tuesday 21/12/21

7:15pm Sydney Sixers vs Adelaide Strikers @ SCG

The Sixers have emerged as the front runners after beating Melbourne for the second time in two weeks.

They own three wins from four games and they have a well-balanced batting lineup, which is giving bowling teams headaches.

Adelaide is struggling with one win from three games. It has the talent to push Sydney close, but the home side should have the edge.

Betting tip: Sydney Sixers @ $1.45Bet @ Sportsbet

Wednesday 22/12/21

7:15pm Melbourne Renegades vs Perth Scorchers @ Marvel Stadium

We thought the Renegades would struggle and we haven’t been let down. They sit at the bottom of the table and we don’t think they’ll get off the bottom.

They face the firing Scorchers, who have yet to lose. That’s tough to overlook and it would take a big effort from the home team to get the job done.

Bookmakers will have Perth as the dominant favourites.

Thursday 23/12/21

7:15pm Adelaide Strikers vs Brisbane Heat @ Adelaide Oval

Adelaide and Brisbane are desperate for success and we give the advantage to the Strikers.

Playing at home is big for this team, and given the struggles of the Heat, they shouldn’t have much problem getting the win.

Brisbane is the most enigmatic team in the Big Bash League, so backing it with confidence is almost impossible.

Friday 24/12/21

3:30pm Hobart Hurricanes vs Melbourne Stars @ Blundstone Arena

The Melbourne Stars can’t seem to beat the Sydney Sixers, but they are playing well enough against the other teams.

We expect them to make a mid-season run and beating the Hobart Hurricanes on the road would be a good start.

Hobart is a team with plenty of firepower, with the likes of D’Arcy Short, but they don’t always put it all together.

It should be a closely-fought contest, but take the Stars to snatch a road victory.

Betting tip: Melbourne StarsBet @ Sportsbet

Sunday 26/12/21

6:05pm Sydney Thunder vs Sydney Sixers @ Spotless Stadium

The Sixers will be well-favoured to beat their Sydney rivals on Sunday. They have started the season well and they could have too much firepower.

The Thunder have shown glimpses of good form, but the Sixers often get the edge in this matchup, so take them to win.

We expect bookmakers to have the Sixers around $1.60 in the local derby.

Betting tip: Sydney SixersBet @ Sportsbet

9:15pm Perth Scorchers vs Melbourne Renegades @ Optus Stadium

It’s a busy week for the Perth Scorchers, but we think they could go 3-0. They have a solid batting attack and a deadly bowling lineup, so they are always tough to beat.

Melbourne has been getting rolled by inferior teams, so we don’t think it will be competitive in tough conditions in Perth.

The Scorchers will likely be the shortest favourite of the week.
