Big Bash League Week 7

Monday 17/1/22

5:05pm Adelaide Strikers vs Sydney Sixers @ Adelaide Oval

The Adelaide Strikers have improved to fourth on the BBL ladder after posting five wins and eight losses, but it’s not as good as the Sixers.

Sydney owns eight wins after putting the hurt on the Thunder last week after scoring 197 runs for only five wickets. The 60-run victory holds them in good stead against the Strikers, who beat the Stars on Saturday.

A close game is expected but we give it to Sydney.

Betting tip: Sydney Sixers @ $1.55Bet @ Sportsbet

8:15pm Brisbane Heat vs Perth Scorchers @ Marvel Stadium

It’s another struggling season for the Brisbane Heat with just three wins, so we can’t back them with any confidence.

We can back the Perth Scorchers with confidence after notching 10 wins from 13 games, so punters should be confident.

Betting markets have a favourable line for the Scorchers at $1.52, so we’re taking it with open arms.

Tuesday 18/1/22

7:15pm Hobart Hurricanes vs Melbourne Renegades @ Marvel Stadium

The Hobart Hurricanes get a few new additions this week and it could help them prevail against the Renegades.

They have slipped outside the top four, but with six wins and six losses, they’re still in good position to make a playoff run.

The same can’t be said for the Renegades, who despite showing glimpses of quality, sit at the bottom of the ladder and they should stay there.

Wednesday 19/1/22

1:05pm Brisbane Heat vs Adelaide Strikers @ The Gabba

We’re sticking with the Strikers to beat the Brisbane Heat and bounce back from a possible defeat at the hands of the Sixers on Monday.

Playing two games in three days could help the Strikers, who are desperate for momentum. It shouldn’t be too hard against the Heat, who are struggling.

Chris Lynn isn’t doing enough to give his team a chance, so take the visitors.

4:10pm Sydney Thunder vs Melbourne Renegades @ MCG

It’s the second-placed team against the Renegades, who are sitting firmly at the bottom of the table.

We expected a tough season for the Renegades, but winning only three games from 12 isn’t good enough, especially against the firing Thunder.

Sydney has moved into second place with eight wins, so we expect its good form to continue.

7:15pm Melbourne Stars vs Hobart Hurricanes @ MCG

The Stars is in hot water and it doesn’t look like they’ll make the playoffs, which would be disappointing.

This game looms large for the Hobart Hurricanes, who could improve into a playoff-bearing position with two wins this week.

The odds will depend on how well the Hurricanes play during the week, but we expect them to get the job done against the Stars.
