Big Bash League Week 7

Monday 18/01/21

Sydney Thunder vs. Hobart Hurricanes @ Manuka Oval

Despite a loss to the Sixers last week, the Thunder find themselves in second place on the BBL ladder with only four games left.

The Thunder own six wins from 10 games, and they’re in a slightly better position than the Hurricanes. Hobart owns five wins, and is currently sitting one off the bottom.

The Hurricanes have struggled recently and this should be a win to the Thunder.

Bet: Sydney Thunder to win @ $1.75Bet @ Sportsbet

Perth Scorchers vs. Brisbane Heat @ Marvel Stadium

The Scorchers and Heat have been playing well recently, and both sit on five wins from 10 games.

It wasn’t a good start to the season for the Heat, but recent success sees them in with a chance to make the playoffs.

Perth has also improved significantly, and a cracking game is expected on Tuesday. Much like bookmakers, we give a slight edge to Perth.

Bet: Perth Scorchers to win @ $1.71Bet @ Sportsbet

Wednesday 20/01/21

Melbourne Renegades vs. Melbourne Stars @ Marvel Stadium

The Stars are coming off a win over the Renegades on Sunday night, and they could score another victory on Wednesday.

It was a game the Renegades could have won, but a poor last 10 overs was enough to see the Stars capture a much-needed victory.

We don’t see much changing here, and the Stars should score another win in the Melbourne rivalry.

Bet: Melbourne Stars to win @ $1.50 Bet @ Sportsbet

Thursday 21/01/21

Adelaide Strikers vs. Brisbane Heat @ Adelaide Oval

The Heat play their second game in three days, and we expect them to win one of them. Brisbane needs a win this week to stay in the playoff hunt, so there is plenty of importance on this game.

Adelaide is also in desperate need of a win. They currently sit below Brisbane on the BBL ladder, so defending their home soil is important.

Adelaide scored only 68 runs in their last contest against Melbourne, so that won’t give punters much confidence.

Friday 22/01/21

Hobart Hurricanes vs. Perth Scorchers @ Marvel Stadium

Hobart needs to find some resilience after slipping further down the ladder. The Hurricanes led the Big Bash League earlier this season, but it was been questionable form since.

It is a different story for Perth, who started the season poorly, but has bounced back impressively. The Scorchers are living up to their names, and they could continue on Friday.

We expect an even betting market, but give the edge to Perth.

Sydney Sixers vs. Sydney Thunder @ Adelaide Oval

Adelaide gets treated to the Sydney derby as the top two teams in the BBL do battle.

The Sixers own eight wins from 11 games, and they look set to win the top spot in the playoffs. However, a loss to the Thunder and we could see things tighten up considerably.

The Sydney Thunder couldn’t get the better of the Sixers last week, and we don’t think they can turn that result around just yet.

Bookmakers should have the Sixers as favourites to win the rematch.

Saturday 23/01/21

Melbourne Renegades vs. Brisbane Heat @ Marvel Stadium

Punters have lost all confidence with the Melbourne Renegades, especially after their performance on Sunday night.

Despite captain Aaron Finch providing his team with another shocking performance, the Renegades were in a good position. However, losing key wickets at key times was their downfall.

Looking to add more misery is the Brisbane Heat, who have a much more balanced unit. They have quality batters and bowlers, unlike Melbourne, who are bowler-heavy.

It should be a Heat victory on Saturday night.

Bet: Brisbane Heat to winBet @ Sportsbet

Melbourne Stars vs. Perth Scorchers @ MCG

The MCG hosts two of the more exciting teams in the Big Bash as the Stars take on the Scorchers.

It didn’t look good for the Stars at the beginning of last week, but Week 6 could have been a defining round for this franchise.

They are now back in firm control of their season, and it sets up a huge Saturday night contest. Perth has been bringing the heat recently, and we should see two high-powered offences do battle.

Playing at home helps the Stars, so we give them a slight edge.

Bet: Melbourne Stars to winBet @ Sportsbet

Sunday 24/01/21

Sydney Thunder vs. Adelaide Strikers @ Adelaide Oval

The Thunder has a busy schedule this week, and that could play against them come Sunday night.

It’s an important week for the Thunder as they look to close the gap on the Sixers, but it’s even more important for the Strikers.

They need a win to stay in playoff contention, and being on home soil could be enough to see them take the win.

Expect a close betting market, and punters could get value for Adelaide.

Bet: Adelaide Strikers to winBet @ Sportsbet

Sydney Sixers vs. Hobart Hurricanes @ MCG

Looking to confirm their top spot in the BBL are the Sixers, who have been playing well throughout the season.

Boasting one of the more talented rosters, Sydney seems to do everything right when it counts. They are tough to beat, and the MCG should play into their hands.

Hobart is trending negatively, so punters should be confident in a Sixers win to close Week 7 of the Big Bash League.

Bet: Sydney Sixers to winBet @ Sportsbet
