7:15pm Melbourne Renegades vs Adelaide Strikers @ Marvel Stadium
The Adelaide Strikers started the season on fire but they have steadily fallen down the Big Bash ladder and they need to beat the Renegades to have any chance of making the playoffs.
It’s a similar situation for the Renegades, who come off consecutive losses, and despite currently being in a playoff-bearing position, that’s likely to change should they lose.
We’re backing the Renegades to be too strong. They lost to the Perth Scorchers on Sunday but chased gamely when scoring 202 runs. They came up short when chasing 212, but it was a valiant effort and it bodes well against Adelaide.
The Strikers aren’t playing well enough at the moment and they are severely down on the confidence, so lock in the $2.02 for the Renegades, which is a terrific underdog price for the better team.

1:40pm Hobart Hurricanes vs Brisbane Heat @ UTAS
The Hobart Hurricanes have shot themselves in the foot with three consecutive losses and it’s likely enough to see them miss the playoffs. However, the bookmakers expect them to beat the visiting Brisbane Heat on Wednesday.
Not much is going right for the Hurricanes following their losing streak, so we can’t see why bookmakers have them at $1.76 to beat one of the hottest teams in Big Bash.
The Heat have rattled off four wins on the bounce to improve to third position and with every chance to make the playoffs. They still need to win, but they’re in a better position than most teams in the competition.
We’re very happy to take the $2.07 for the Heat, who are the better team and playing on the road shouldn’t be a problem.

7:15pm Melbourne Stars vs Sydney Thunder @ MCG
The Melbourne Stars are the worst team in the competition with only three wins from 13 games, so we can’t pick them to beat the Sydney Thunder.
Things aren’t going much better for the Thunder, who have dropped four of their last five games. However, they’re in a position where a win could see them make the playoffs.
Their run rate is terrible though, so they need to beat the Stars and hope the Renegades lose.
We’re not surprised to see bookmakers have the Thunder favoured to win. They are currently the $1.67 favourites, and although those odds are on the shorter side of value, they are a better team than the Stars.
