Big Bash League Week 5 Predictions
—
Monday 9/1/23
7:15pm Hobart Hurricanes vs Melbourne Stars @ Blundstone Arena
The Hobart Hurricanes are struggling to get going after posting only three wins from eight games, but the Melbourne Stars are even worse.
The Stars have only two wins, so they’re not playing well and playing on the road isn’t going to help their chances.
Bookmakers have $1.63 for Hobart, which is worth taking.

Tuesday 10/1/23
7:40pm Adelaide Strikers vs Melbourne Renegades @ Adelaide Oval
The Strikers were at the top of the table before losing four on the bounce, but after posting a win against Hobart when chasing down 229, they should be full of confidence.
It won’t be an easy game against the Renegades, who have fired off consecutive wins and they’re currently third on the BBL ladder, which is much higher than expected.
Adelaide at home is never easy to beat, so take it to win.

Wednesday 11/11/23
7:40pm Brisbane Heat vs Perth Scorchers @ Gabba
The Brisbane Heat aren’t very hot at the moment after only one win from their last four games, so it’s a good chance for the Scorchers to continue their hot form.
Perth is 6-2 after posting four wins from its last five games, so all the momentum is with the Scorchers and we don’t see that changing.
They will be favoured to win and punters should include him in Big Bash bets.
Betting tip: Perth Scorchers Bet @ betr

Thursday 12/1/23
7:15pm Melbourne Stars vs Adelaide Strikers @ MCG
The Stars have come out with nothing in this competition and it’s disappointing to see. They have the players good enough to win, but they have only two wins on the record.
However, we expect them to improve over the coming weeks and Adelaide hasn’t been as consistent as usual lately.
It’s a more important game for the Stars if they want any chance to make the playoffs.

Friday 13/1/23
6:30pm Sydney Thunder vs Perth Scorchers @ Spotless Stadium
The Thunder couldn’t continue their winning streak last time out but they’re good enough to get back on the winning train.
However, facing the Scorchers isn’t an ideal situation and they’re one of the form teams in the Big Bash League.
We expect bookmakers to have a close market framed, but take the Thunder to win at home.

Saturday 14/1/23
4:00pm Adelaide Strikers vs Brisbane Heat @ Adelaide Oval
The Strikers got back to winning form with an excellent win last week and that should continue in Week 5.
They face the Heat, who are one of the worst teams in the competition and they’re likely to be sitting near the bottom of the table when it’s all said and done.
The Strikers will be paying around $1.50 to win.
Betting tip: Adelaide Strikers Bet @ betr

7:30pm Melbourne Renegades vs Melbourne Stars @ Marvel Stadium
The all-Melbourne battle is always a fun game and it’s unusual to see the Renegades in the commanding position.
They have played much better than the Stars so far, but the Stars should be on the way up and the Renegades usually fade at this stage of the season.
Punters could get value for the Stars.

Sunday 15/1/23
1:40pm Hobart Hurricanes vs Sydney Thunder @ Blundstone Arena
We expected the Thunder to have a good season and they haven’t let us down so far. Therefore, we’re taking them to beat Hobart.
The Hurricanes aren’t playing well after consecutive losses, and despite playing at home, we’re not keen on their chances.
Take the value with Sydney.
Betting tip: Sydney Thunder Bet @ betr

7:15pm Sydney Sixers vs Perth Scorchers @ SCG
The Sixers have made their way to the top of the ladder with six wins from 10 games and they could hold off the Scorchers.
It’s more of a quiet week for the Sixers, who have played the most games of any team. They’re fresh and ready to fire.
Punters should expect a closely-framed market.
