Liverpool maintained their perfect start to the season with a dominant 3-1 win over Arsenal in game week 2 – to go top of the table by two points. Defending Champions Manchester City got back to winning ways at Bournemouth whilst Chelsea picked up their first top-flight win under Frank Lampard. Crystal Palace and Newcastle produced the shocks of the weekend, beating Manchester United and Tottenham respectively whilst Southampton and West Ham picked up their first wins of the season.
Here are our picks for the fourth round of fixtures in the Premier League:
Liverpool vs Newcastle United – Anfield
Newcastle United ($26)
Table-topping Liverpool will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the pile as they welcome Newcastle to Anfield. The Reds have been in fine form so far this season, picking up 4 wins from 4 and they will be hoping to put the Magpies to the sword in front of their passionate home support. For Newcastle, they will see this as very much a free hit on the road. Steve Bruce’s men have picked up 4 points from their last two games and despite not carrying much of a goal threat, could make this difficult for Jurgen Klopp’s men here. Liverpool however should have no issues seeing off the Toon on Saturday lunchtime.

Liverpool to win 3-0
Brighton vs Burnley – AMEX Stadium
Two sides that are sure to have survival on their minds face off on the South Coast as Brighton take on Burnley. Brighton have lost their last two games after a strong start under Graham Potter and they look to be carrying a significant goal threat this season, something that they have desperately lacked in recent campaigns. Burnley have looked in good shape so far this term despite having to navigate some tricky fixtures. Their defeat to Liverpool last time out flattered the reds somewhat and they will be eager to bounce back on the road here. This should be a very close game between two good sides that could well end up honours even.

Manchester United vs Leicester City – Old Trafford
Manchester United ($1.83)
Leicester City ($4.8)
Manchester United host unbeaten Leicester City at Old Trafford as they look to ease the pressure mounting on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Poor results against Southampton, Wolves and Crystal Palace have seen United amass only 5 points from their opening 4 games and they look to lack team cohesion. For Leicester, they will see this as a real chance to test themselves against one of the ‘big 6’ and Brendan Rodgers’s men are sure to arrive in Salford full of confidence. This could be a very entertaining game which United should just about prevail from.

Manchester United to win 2-1
Sheffield United vs Southampton – Bramall Lane
Sheffield United ($2.61)
Two more sides with safety on the mind face off in South Yorkshire as Sheffield United host Southampton. The Blades were promoted automatically last season and look to have one of the hottest properties in English football in Chris Wilder in charge. Their comeback draw at Chelsea last time out will fill all at the club with confidence and they look to be a team in form currently. Similarly, Southampton picked up a good result against Manchester United last time out, drawing 1-1 at home and they look to have a well-balanced squad this season. This could be a highly entertaining encounter between two good sides that could well end up honours even.

Tottenham vs Crystal Palace – Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Crystal Palace ($10)
Mauricio Pochettino will be looking for his first win since the opening day as his Tottenham side welcome Crystal Palace. Spurs have looked sluggish at times this season, only picking up 5 points from their opening 4 games and they were lucky to draw with both Manchester City and Arsenal. For Palace, they will see this as a real opportunity, They have won their last two games (including a win on the road at Manchester United) and they look to be a team well set up to play away from home. The home crowd at Spurs could get restless here if things aren’t going their way but the whites should just about get the job done with the likes of Harry Kane in their ranks.
Betting tip: Tottenham to win the match and both teams to score ($2.4) – Bet Now
Tottenham to win 3-2
Wolves vs Chelsea – Molineux
Wolves are still looking for their first win of the season as they welcome Chelsea to the West Midlands. Wolves have only lost once this season and have made good progress in the Europa League but they will need to address their league form quickly. Chelsea meanwhile have only won once in the league this term and the manner of their home draw with Sheffield United last time out will be a huge concern for Frank Lampard. The blues don’t look to have a settled starting XI as yet but their young squad should come good as the season progresses. This could be a highly entertaining game between two teams that play on the front foot and goals look guaranteed.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw and both teams to score ($4.85) – Bet Now
Norwich City vs Manchester City – Carrow Road
Norwich City ($19)
Manchester City ($1.18)
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City will be looking keep the pressure on Liverpool as they head to newly promoted Norwich City. The blues dropped points at home to Tottenham but have been in imperious form otherwise and look well set to make a solid defence of their title once more. For Norwich, they will be looking to use home atmosphere to their advantage following a disappointing showing at West Ham last time out. This should be a highly entertaining clash between two sides with contrasting styles but City have done the business week in, week out for 3 seasons now and should have no real issues here.
Betting tip: Manchester City to win the match to nil ($1.95) – Bet Now
Manchester City to win 3-0
Bournemouth vs Everton – Vitality Stadium
Two of the sides hoping to crack the ‘big 6’ face off on the South coast on Sunday as Bournemouth host Everton. The Cherries have suffered poor results in recent weeks to Leicester and Manchester City and they will be eager to bounce back on home turf here. For Everton, they will be keen to improve their away form that has been their Achilles Heel in recent seasons and they will be looking to build on their impressive showing against Wolves last time out. This should be a very entertaining clash between two teams that prefer to attack and goals once more look assured.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw and both teams to score ($4.75) – Bet Now
Watford vs Arsenal – Vicarage Road
Quique Sanches Flores will take charge of his first game back at Watford against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon. The Hornets decided to part company with Javi Gracia and Flores returns to the team which he got promoted to the Premier League. They are currently bottom of the table, having only picked up one point and they will be eager to avoid a relegation scrap this term. For Arsenal, this will be a chance to get back to winning ways after losing to Liverpool and drawing with Tottenham. Both sides need the points here and Watford are sure to be buoyed by having a new manager but Arsenal should have too much quality in key areas here.

Aston Villa vs West Ham United – Villa Park
Aston Villa ($2.7)
West Ham United ($2.65)
West Ham United travel to Aston Villa on Monday Night Football, with both sides looking to climb the table. Villa have impressed in period this season but can’t seem to find the consistency needed in the Premier League just yet. They have 3 points to their name following an impressive win over Everton and they will be hoping for a repeat performance and atmosphere here. West Ham meanwhile are unbeaten in their last 3 games and the manner of their home win over Norwich last time out will give all at the club confidence they can climb the table this term and challenge in the top half. This should be an excellent game which West Ham could well pick up all three points from.
